JELD-WEN is currently seeking a HR Coordinator to join our growing team.

The Opportunity

As a Human Resources Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support to the Human Resources Manager, Plant Manager, and site associates. You will support with recruiting, on-boarding, Kronos payroll processes and managing employee record changes in the HRIS system or record. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate files and tracking the required documentation for site associates. This role will report to the Human Resources Manager.

The position will be based onsite in our Grinnell, IA facility.

What You Will Do

  • Supports with other daily HR related functions.

  • Provides administrative support to the site as needed.

  • Administers and maintains employee files and HRIS data entry for all hourly employees; provide support to employees in updating personal information in the HRIS system; ad-hoc reporting as required.

  • Monitors and enters time and attendance, audits time entries for paid time off (PTO) points system and audits times exceptions in preparation for payroll.

  • Processes Titan timesheets and ensures all timesheets have been approved by employee, manager, and submitted for payroll.

  • Generates and submits payroll reports to Payroll and Plant Manger.

  • Resolves payroll system discrepancies; provides payroll information by answering questions upon request.

  • Prepares the reporting HR information and data as directed by the HR Manager.

  • Assist in completing Disability and unemployment inquires under the direction and approval of the Human Resources Manager.

  • Prepares weekly reports regarding wage, hour and production.

  • Prepares and assists with all new employee packages (benefits, new hire paperwork, etc.) and conducts all new hire onboarding.

  • Assist in preparing and tracking leaves of absence.

  • Participates in special projects and team initiatives and provides administrative support as assigned such as employee engagement activities, etc.

  • Handles all information in a confidential manner while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

  • Special projects as assigned by Human Resources Manager.

  • General Administrative tasks.

  • Conforms with safety regulations per plant policies an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.

  • Reports unsafe conditions immediately to appropriate supervision.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years of progressive Human Resources with payroll and or accounting experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with applications of state, federal, and local employment, and wage laws.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on professional business demeanor, communication, and customer service.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, comfortable with calendar management and email in Outlook.

  • Prioritization, project coordination and collaboration skills required.
