Administers and coordinates formal human resources processes and assignments in one or more core functional areas by directly HR generalists, utilizing knowledge of company operations, policies and department functions

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs primary responsibilities associated with administering and coordinating one or more human resources core processes, including but not limited to: data entry, labor relations, employee relations, and new hire training.

  • With direction, exercises understanding of employment laws and regulations, reviews processes in area(s) of assignment(s) to identify issues and recommend solutions.

  • Provides informed guidance to clients regarding understanding and use of HR applications within area(s) of assignments.

  • Interacts, corresponds and offers direction to customers and employees.

  • Prepares and presents materials to HR customers and stakeholders.

  • May develop and recommend training materials in support of New Mexico Operations orientation.

  • Supports investigations and BCIR documentation.

  • May prepare some materials associated with sensitive HR processes, such as analysis of PeopleSoft reports, talent analysis, performance management, retention, and divisional metrics.

  • Performs records custodian responsibilities for one or more HR records systems including disciplinary files and labor relations.

  • Inputs employee data into PeopleSoft or other HR business systems, and ensures confidential handling of sensitive information.

  • Some opportunities to travel may be offered but are not required.

  • Conducts activities in a safe and healthy manner and works in accordance with established ES&H requirements to ensure the protection of associates, the public, and the environment. Takes actions necessary to "stop" work when an unsafe condition or action is identified. Every associate has the right and responsibility to stop work when unsafe conditions or actions are identified.

You Must Have

  • US Citizenship, required to obtain and maintain necessary US Dept. of Energy "Q"-level security clearance.

  • Associate's Degree in business or human resources discipline

  • Minimum three years of human resources administrative experience with emphasis in at least one core HR function (benefits; compensation; compliance; labor/employee relations; staffing; training), in an environment requiring basic understanding of employment laws and regulations.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in demand status.

VIEW JOBS 1/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-17T00:00 Description Summary: Provides human resources leadership, guidance and consultancy to a regional leadership team; responsible for implementing and operationalizing human resources policies and activities, including, but not limited to, guidance on employment law, Company policies and philosophies, recruitment, performance management, compensation, organizational change, leadership development and human resources systems; oversees recruitment center staff in a specific geographic area and the daily work of the center Responsibilities: * Participates as a strategic member of the regional operations team; ensures consistent application of the human resources plan with the operational business plan * Collaborates with operations leadership to anticipate and plan for long term human resources needs and trends * Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates, and motivates a team of Recruiting Center employees, with dotted line responsibility to the Manager, Centralized Recruiting * Ensures appropriate Recruiting Center staffing level by monitoring vacation schedules and coverage. Works with Management to make staffing changes as necessary * Completes annual performance appraisals for Recruiting Center staff by working in conjunction with Manager, Centralized Recruiting * Ensures that the Recruiting Center objective, to provide quality candidates for hourly Store positions, is being met by monitoring individual Recruiting Center statistics and turnover on a weekly basis * Guides and counsels field management in areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, recruitment, employment practices, employee performance, employment laws and regulations, compensation, benefits, workers' compensation, and other Company policies and procedures * Receives employee relations complaints; researches and conducts necessary investigations, secures appropriate documentation and makes recommendations to resolve the complaints based on the investigation findings. Works with the Legal organization as needed * Advises Operations Managers regarding disciplinary actions and terminations; reviews reasoning and documentation. Makes recommendations for appropriate actions accordingly * Maintains broad generalist human resources knowledge. Interprets laws and regulations and ensures consistency when applying them to Company issues * Initiates and recommends Company policy changes based on current business practices. Drafts recommended language changes in order to update Company manuals and handbooks * Keeps abreast of workers' compensation and unemployment laws in the assigned state; assists in claim investigations to determine Company liability. Participates in hearings as needed * Reviews monthly and quarterly bonus exceptions. Researches issues and coordinates corrections in SAP when bonus program data and the database do not correlate * Collaborates with various colleges, advertising companies, staffing agencies, and online recruiting companies in an effort to fill vacant positions * Develops and creates presentations and/or training materials for human resources topics.
