The Human Resources Compliance Specialist will provide professional-level Human Resources support in areas of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, unemployment, state and federal labor posters, as well as government and EEO-1 reporting. This position will conduct research, help develop processes, conduct audits, help with training, monitor compliance of I-9's and e-Verify.
Support Human Resources management with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Responds to unemployment claims
Complete various government reports such as JOLTS, BLS, state new hire reports and EEO-1 as well as internal reports as needed or directed
Review I9 audit report from vendor for pending I9's, new hires, e-verify cases and date of hire discrepancies
Assist ACs with inquiries regarding validity of I-9 supporting documentation and procedural questions
Notify and coach ACs on E-Verify exception requirements, receipt updates, upcoming expiring work visas, and processing
Review and monitor termination and missing file from I-9 vendor
Research SSN/profile name/reverification change requests
Monitors WOTC program
Conducts compliance audits
Identify opportunities to streamline business processes and recommend procedural changes regarding onboarding
Develops process maps, job aides, detailed procedures, training documentation, and internal communications to ensure understanding and compliance of I-9/E-Verify
Serves as the primary point of contact for state and federal HR compliance posters and ensures power points are available to all store locations
Orders all labor postings for stores and ensures power points are updated and available to all Sprouts locations
Assign service now tickets to Compliance/LOA team
Order and maintain items for new hire orientation for store support
Back-up to present New Hire Orientation for store support
Perform additional related tasks and projects as required and assigned.
Maintains an extremely high level of confidentiality
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Physical Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field preferred with at least two (2) years of Human Resources Compliance experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience preferred
General working knowledge of Human Resources concepts, processes, laws, regulations and procedures
Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Excellent analysis and ability to perform extensive research, make independent analysis and report findings
Demonstrated ethical behavior and ability to maintain extremely high levels of confidentiality
Proven track record of excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills
Well organized, high attention to detail, and ability to work under deadline pressure
