JOB SUMMARY:
Provides operational and administrative aid to the Human Resources division of the Sheriff's Office including recruiting, hiring, terminations, promotions, transfers and other changes. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Responsibilities
Gives instructions on completing the preliminary application for employment and audits applications when returned.
Administers Nelson Denny for all applicants (when needed), Criti-Call test for dispatchers, and other tests as needed.
First point of contact for visitors and applicants; answers phones and responds to information requests or routes to appropriate person.
Process and print all ID cards for Sheriff's office.
Helps Maintains internal database and logs.
Assist with applicant files for interview boards.
Prepares blank application packets, including copy of documents and attachments required by TCOLE; maintain updated forms, new hire packets, and assisting in tracking forms.
Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
One year job-related experience; knowledge of HR functionality preferred
Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and typing skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials
SALARY RANGE: $15.00- $17.53 hourly based on qualifications
POSTING PERIOD: Until position filled.
