The Schneider organization has an immediate need for an Associate Human Resource Business Partner (Associate HRBP) to help increase the effectiveness of the organization by maximizing the contribution of our associates. The role will serve as the HR generalist resource to selected business partners, providing delivery of HR services and business results under the supervision of the HRBP or HR Direct. In addition, this role provides support to HRBP's in a variety of departmental projects & initiatives, as well as to corporate HR services and projects. As an Associate Human Resource Business Partner your duties include but are not limited to:

  • Staffing: - Assist in the development of departmental staffing projections. Manage plans and processes for turnover tracking, needs assessment, staffing, recruiting, selection and succession planning. Conduct recruiting and interviews as required. Facilitate hiring decisions.

  • Associate Relations: - Consult with leaders on performance issues, legal issues, or other significant actions that affect associates and the organization. Manage processes for performance improvement, terminations, harassment investigations, Fair & Equitable treatment, and other sensitive issues. Conduct formal and informal sensing of the environment.

  • Compensation: - Manage administrative compensation processes, including job factoring and internal/external equity.

  • Compliance Implements human resources policies to meet organizational needs and comply with state and federal laws. Provides guidance to business leaders to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal statutes. Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, guidelines and programs.

  • Quality: - Lead client departments' integration of quality processes into their work. Ensure client departments' measure productivity and effectiveness. Assist in process reengineering efforts where appropriate.

  • Union Free: - Assist with union-free training, risk and readiness assessments and contingency planning in client department.

  • Organizational Design: - Assist with organizational design process in client departments. Develop an understanding of client departments' work processes.

  • Project/Initiatives Management: Lead and coordinate a variety of corporate HR and department projects and initiatives.

  • Travel: - Overnight travel approximately 0-10% of time; varies with client departments.

Our preferred candidate will have:

  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • Three to five years of business experience, human resource exposure desirable.

  • Required skills: leadership, interpersonal, planning and organizing, facilitation, and problem analysis. Superior judgment and discretion is essential. Strong project management and matrix leadership skills are preferred.

Our ideal candidates should have an extensive range of experience with Labor Relations in a manufacturing environment. The Labor & Employee Relations manager serves as the main resource for all aspects of labor relations management including regulatory compliance, employee and labor relations. You will be a key member of the Human Resources team ensuring that all labor and employee relations programs, policies and practices support the needs of the business and the HR/Business Strategy. In partnership with key stakeholders, you will develop and recommend strategies and programs to facilitate a positive employee experience and to avoid and/or mitigate labor disputes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Reviews and develops responses to grievances; investigates and coordinates responses to formal and informal unfair labor practice charges filed by organizations against the Company. Advises management on compliance with union contracts; serves as the management representative during interactions with union representatives in meetings, investigations and other union-related activities. * Support contract negotiations by identifying issues, developing proposals and building a business case to support the company's position * Keeping current on changes to relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations and apprising operational leaders on such changes to ensure compliance and efficient operations * Ensuring consistent administration and interpretation of Plant Rules and Policies * Formulates, recommends, reviews and updates Human Resources policies and objectives for the Company in areas associated with labor and employee relations Special Projects * Support and facilitate the placement and selection of employees in the various jobs of the manufacturing facilities, including the recruitment and hiring of new talent and succession planning.
