We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team as an HR Business Partner. This role requires a highly skilled HR professional who can effectively manage multiple client accounts simultaneously. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning HR functions with business objectives within specific business units, focusing on outsourced day-to-day HR activities. The HRBP manages multiple accounts and leverages HR Generalists (HRG) and HR Specialists (HRS) to ensure efficient service delivery. The HRBP serves as a consultant to clients management team on human resources-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent while coordinating team resources.

Key Responsibilities | Essential Job Functions:

  • Employee Relations Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and resolution to ensure a positive work environment. This includes handling employee grievances, disciplinary actions, terminations, and coordinating with clients leadership teams and internal support teams for escalation and resolution.
  • Team Coordination: Leverage the HRG and HRS teams, through the centers of excellence (COE) and ensuring that all tasks across the accounts are efficiently managed. Provide guidance and support to HRG and HRS staff as they handle more tactical tasks, ensuring they meet service level expectations.
  • Performance Management: Manage and maintain performance standards, ensuring employees are supported and recognized in alignment with their performance. Assist in the coordination and documentation of performance appraisals, improvement plans, and ensuring adherence to performance policies leveraging the COEs as appropriate.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented across the business unit, aligning with compliance and company standards. Regularly audit policies to ensure they remain updated with legal requirements.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Provide quarterly reports and analyze HR metrics such as turnover rates, absenteeism, and performance trends. Offer actionable insights based on data to improve HR processes and employee engagement.
  • Training & Education: Conduct or coordinate compliance training sessions for management, focusing on HR-related topics like anti-harassment and safety protocols. Ensure training tracking compliance for regulatory requirements via the HRIS or other systems.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding Support: Oversee the onboarding and offboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions, compliance with onboarding documentation, and conducting or assisting with exit interviews when employees leave leveraging the COEs as appropriate.

Example Duties:

  • Advise managers on handling complex employee relations issues, including performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and participate in HR metrics reporting to track employee engagement, performance, and compliance.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including document retention, compliance tracking, and scheduling exit interviews.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between client leadership and HR teams to address employee lifecycle processes, including system updates and regulatory audits.
  • Coordinate with HRG and HRS to manage client expectations and provide regular updates on account progress, HR metrics, and service levels.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Interact in a tactful, diplomatic, and professional, manner with customer/clients, supervisors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and positive experience which ensures customer/client retention and quality service.
  • Maintain a dependable attendance record.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a business partner role in an outsourced or managed HR services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and HRIS system functionalities for onboarding, performance management, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication.
  • Must be proactive, possess a high degree of initiative, and eagerness to learn/adapt.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with a high commitment to quality.
  • Must thrive in a dynamic environment.

Working Conditions

In this fully remote position, employees will work in a home office environment with secure access to systems handling sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII). Adherence to strict confidentiality protocols and data privacy regulations is required. The role demands a quiet, professional workspace free from distractions to maintain focus and ensure data security. Access to high-speed internet, as well as secure equipment and software, is necessary for compliance with company and legal standards. Regular virtual meetings and collaboration with team members are expected, with camera usage during meetings being imperative to maintain engagement and clear communication.

Cognitive and Physical Demands

  • Daily/majority of the day: sitting, computer work, screen time, keyboarding, typing, wrist flexing/extension and other repetitive movements
  • Daily/consistent: Use of professional judgement in alignment with HCMU values and policies, ability to communicate effectively verbally and written, translate high level instructions into an executable process flow, and to complete medium to large projects with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Frequently: Learning new software applications and recalling important processes
  • Occasionally: kneeling, standing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and lifting (up to 20 pounds).
