As a strategic partner, the Human Resources Business Partner, Level 2 (HRBP2) aligns business objectives with employees and management in assigned client groups. The HRBP2 serves as a consultant to management, demonstrating expertise in interpreting and administering policies and procedures covering multiple functional areas such as employee relations, performance management, terminations, leave of absence administration, benefits administration, etc. The position assists with the communication, and implementation of organizational policies, ensuring that they comply with local, state, and federal labor laws. A successful HRBP2 acts as employee champion and change agent, and assesses and anticipates HR-related needs.
AS HR Business Partner, Level 2, YOU WILL . . .
Partner with employees and management in the assigned client groups to provide strategic guidance and counsel that drives performance improvement.
Act as a resource for a wide range of employee issues, responding directly when possible, and redirecting or escalating as necessary.
Develop deep understanding of the business strategy and operations of K12 and the line of business portfolio.
Advocate for and counsel employees and management; Coach clients on productive, professional communication written and oral that effectively and proactively addresses employee relations issues broadly defined; Consult on action plans and follows through.
Consult with management on employee performance, development, and succession planning.
Ensure compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations; Review and keep informed about recent and changing employment related laws, guidelines and trends and recommends changes in policy/procedures.
Ensure all HR administration activities are carried out accurately and effectively, e.g. coordinates the termination process collecting company assets and assisting in exit interview process, process unemployment claims on a timely basis performing research and supplying proper documentation to support claims, etc.
Participate in regular staff meetings and attends other departmental meetings as necessary; Conduct regular meetings with assigned business unit and managers.
Ensure compliance with labor law postings, compliance logs, etc. including at remote office locations and for virtual workforce.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field of study AND Three (3) years human resources business partner experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrates flexible leadership and proactive problem solving.
Highly skilled at goal setting, coaching, performance evaluations and active listening feedback.
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks/projects; ability to influence and negotiate.
Ability to take initiative, be innovative and work effectively in a variety of settings.
Knowledge of current State and Federal Wage, Employment Laws and HR policies and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, to manage the administrative processes of an HR department, and to identify problems requiring escalation.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel; Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint; Basic proficiency with UltiPro or other Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); Web proficiency.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior PHR (SPHR) certification.
Experience in sales operations and sales commissions planning.
