Overview
The Vermont Department of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking an HR Business Partner to join our team in providing HR services and support to multiple departments in the Agency of Administration, the Agency of Digital Services, and several smaller departments and commissions. Duties will include varying degrees of HR Business Partner/Generalist work, including performance management, supervisory coaching, labor relations, hiring and onboarding, position management, records management, and medical leave and accommodation requests. Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in employee/labor relations, which includes providing guidance and assistance on performance and conduct related issues, and disciplinary process. Work at this level also includes assisting supervisors with hiring and processing candidates through SuccessFactors and VTHR, providing information and orientation to new employees, guidance to supervisors on various HR topics, position and records management and other HR related work.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and management personnel, organize and prioritize work effectively, and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills necessary to coordinate and process a large volume of work including operational functions. Ability to work as part of a team and independently, deliver accurate and timely work, and have an aptitude and interest to learn are all key to success in this position.
The Department is currently supporting a hybrid telework environment. Requests to telework will be considered, and in person work may be required.
