This role will partner with business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies focused on talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. In addition, they will own programs that run across the broader HR team. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and translate them into the highest impact work. You will help business leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations that improve performance, retention, and the overall employee experience.

To succeed, you will need a flexible skill set, including the ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and collaborate across many teams, levels, and situations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of HR professionals in a high growth, rapidly changing environment

  • Maintain effective internal and external customer service focus

  • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company

  • Understand the entire talent system and each stage of the employee life-cycle and applies that understanding to craft integrated solutions that are thoughtful and reinforced by upstream and downstream talent programs

  • Interface at all levels of the organization

  • Operate with autonomy and discretion.

  • Successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement

  • Support a 24/7 environment that has multiple shifts and a significant staffing ramp during our seasonal peak in the fourth quarter. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.

Success in this role will require influential partnership with middle and senior management within the organization to execute the HR strategies that foster organizational and people effectiveness. The individual in this role must understand business priorities and translate them into an HR agenda that supports the business as it grows.

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited university

  • 3+ years of human resource business partner experience

  • Experience supporting hourly employee client groups

  • Experience in a call center, distribution center, or manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading employees

  • Master's Degree or MBA in HRM

  • Proficiency with HRIS System

  • Human Resources experience with Fortune 500 companies supporting 250-500 or more associates

  • Amazon Operations and Distribution is a 24/7 environment and shifts may change due to business needs. Full shift flexibility including holidays, nights and weekends is needed for this role.

POSITION STATEMENT: As a strategic partner, the HR Business Partner (HRBP) aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on HR related issues and as an employee champion and change agent. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The HUMAN RESOURCE BUSINESS PARTNER will * <li> * Function with autonomy, diplomacy and professionalism within the guidelines established by this organization * Promote the well-being of the human aspect of this organization and report any concerns to the Chief Human Resource Officer. * Administer the principles of short and long range planning to anticipate and avoid issues * Utilize the support staff to the best interests of this organization * Act as a liaison, Team Leader and link communication between the Executive Director of the affiliate and the Chief Human Resources Officer and the Human Resource Department Support Staff * Function with the highest esteem in dealing with all employees, clients and consumers of this organization * Maintain a high level of confidentiality * Be an advocate for all the policies, protocol, labor grades etc. of the organization * Foster a humane atmosphere within the Human Resource Department as well as the entire organization RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: * <li> HUMAN RESOURCE OPERATIONS * <li> Assist the Chief Human Resource Officer with * Working with the Executive Director of the affiliate(s) and the employees to support and counsel on employment needs of the business unit(s). * Work together to sustain a productive and engaged workforce. * Tracking, trending, reporting on all areas related to Human Resource Management * PRE-EMPLOYMENT * RECRUITMENT * <li> Assist in making verbal offers of employment * Develop Letter of Intent To Hire * Assist with completion of all required New Hire documents * <li> * <li> * Onboard new employees and ensure proper initial training is performed. * <li> EMPLOYMENT ACTIVITIES * ELECTRONIC FILES * HR Computer software and programs * Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws. * Perform scheduled activities/ reports * Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. * Write, maintain, and support a variety of reports or queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. * <li> * EMPLOYEE COUNSELING * Manage employee relations including, but not limited to, advising Manager/Supervisors on performance, retention, and employee experience * Assist with handling disciplinary action and resolving employee complaints * Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results. * Conducts investigations of employee relations situations, including grievances and EEOC charges. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: * <li> Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business or related field * Masters Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations preferred * <li> * Ten (10) years experience in Human Resources Generalist role with diverse human resources experience in multiple areas, including experience working with labor, EEO and AA laws is required. * Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations * Certifications or credentials in Human Resources preferred EXPERIENCE: * <li> * Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws. * Relevant industry experience a plus. * Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and initiative. * Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with high growth, changing circumstances, while working with multiple and diverse responsibilities. * Ability to consult with, challenge and influence senior management on processes and practices to achieve business unit(s) goals for success. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to inform, engage and inspire.
