Partners with property leadership and employees at all levels to achieve business objectives including; assists with management practices by interpreting policy, facilitates benefits administration, collective bargaining agreement compliance, engages in employee relations and activities, assists with the selection and talent management process, as well as performs special projects by assignment. Provides coaching and professional development as appropriate. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promote and maintain all steps of the Harrah's Customer Service program.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with corporate staff, property employees, and vendors.

Provides HR coverage as needed.

Enters employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason into corporate HRIS. Maintain records of training and reporting documents as outlined by Corporate, Federal and State regulations.

Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports as required by management.

Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.

Develops, tracks, and delivers effective, high impact education and development initiatives/training in a classroom setting or in the Learning Management System, assist in New Hire Orientation and onboarding.

Administer all aspects of the Employee Benefits; employee enrollment, and verification of eligibility.

Administer FMLA/ADA and other Leave of Absence Policies.

Prepares documentation and represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations/grievances and unemployment claims.

Educates and coaches employees on business and HR processes, policies, effective practices, and systems.

Provides guidance and counsel to management concerning corrective actions, terminations, and other employee issues.

Conducts investigations of employee complaints

Assists with full-cycle recruitment process including requisitions, sourcing and screening qualified candidates, executing employment offers, and facilitating the on boarding process, conducting exit interviews and retention/turnover plans.

Partners with Centralized Scheduling and the Play Committee in team member engagement and Reward and Recognition

May be required to perform duties outside of normal job description where, in the Company's judgment, it is necessary in the interest of efficiency, productivity, or improved guest service.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions form groups of managers clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and be comfortable searching information from the Internet.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

The role will have direct related responsibility in each of the following areas: Staffing, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Compliance and Training. This role will initially support the Operations team, however, there may be opportunities to take on additional HR responsibilities with other functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. Staffing: * Manage the selection process for union and non-union positions to include: recruiting, interviewing, selection teams, hiring, competitive wage analysis and new hire orientation. * Administers and drives the selection process for internal staffing (bidding) as it relates to union employees. * Work directly with Operations managers to determine appropriate staffing levels and drive productivity. Employee Engagement and Development: * Manages the annual engagement survey program to include participation monitoring, communication plans and subsequent creation of focus groups and action plans to address associate feedback. * Advises supervisors and managers regarding employee performance issues, effective management practices, talent assessment and employee development. * Manage the performance appraisal process, merit planning and succession planning. Labor Relations: * Conducts investigations, manages and resolve all union issues – advises managers and related employees accordingly. * Partners with union representatives to resolve labor relation issues. * Conduct exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to the team for corrective action and continuous improvement. * Partners with HR Director in overseeing negotiation, implementation and ongoing administration of collective bargaining agreements. Compliance / Administration: * Manages and leads the HR compliance efforts; establishes, implements and monitors related policies and procedures, including the electronic I-9 system and process – ensures proper compliance and documentation. * Creates and communicate various policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations for the West Chester and assists with the St. Kitts, W.I. facilities. * Manages the Altra Corporate Open Enrollment to include related communication (including remote communication sessions). Advises associates regarding eligibility and coverage for company provided health and welfare benefits. * Coordinates employee leave benefits (e.g. FMLA, Short term disability, Long term disability); participates in unemployment hearings. * Works with the Safety department to coordinate worker's compensation claim management. Training: * Partners with the operations team to drive cross-training opportunities to foster employee development initiatives. * Coordinates and monitors participation of the Altra Corporate online compliance training program. * Co-facilitates employee development training such as Crucial Conversations, Situational Leadership II and Leadership Essentials.
