JOB SUMMARY
The Director II, HR Business Partner consults with regional business leaders, responsible for one or more sub-service lines within a business unit. Responsibilities include the delivery of high-quality HR processes that ensure a balanced approach between the human capital needs and the goals of the organization. This position is also responsible for developing strategy with leaders that align with the overall business unit, providing consultative advice in all HR disciplines, mentoring managers and staff; evaluating potential issues and recommending solutions that meet operational needs. Additionally, this position acts as the liaison between leaders and internal HR functions to ensure up-to-date and consistent application of policies and practices throughout Conifer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interface daily with operational leaders to provide proactive human resources advice and support; act as liaison between business leaders and HR centers of expertise, collaborating on compensation, training, and development, recruiting, employee engagement, and legal matters as required.
Proactively train and educate leaders on manager effectiveness and provide ideas/recommendations to foster improvement in employee productivity, performance and morale.
Respond to managers and employees in an unbiased manner, providing quick resolution on employee matters including conducting investigations, diagnosing problems, and determining appropriate action. Additionally, provide coaching to employees and managers as needed to ensure minimal disruption in the work environment.
Communicate and advise managers on Conifer's Pay for Performance Management Cycle including setting clear goals, conducting evaluations, appropriately rating performance, and ensuring merit and bonus are in line with rating and internal equity. Provide advice on performance improvement discussions and corrective action documentation as needed.
Coordinate recruiting needs with hiring manager to ensure the position/replacement aligns with the business strategy; advise on salary requirements; and participate in the interview process for positions at the director level and above to ensure selected candidate is the right fit and aligns with the values of the organization.
Work closely with leaders to identify and develop internal talent, provide guidance on developmental action plans and help identify opportunities for high potentials to stretch and learn in areas across the organization.
Identify trends and determine training needs. Develop and facilitate management training, and/or work with the training and development group for operational training needs.
Provide guidance on federal and state laws and regulations as well as internal policies and practices. Work closely with internal legal counsel on any lawsuit, or complaints made through a government agency such as the EEOC or DOL.
Provide guidance on annual procedures such as Employee Engagement Survey or other special projects as determined by the business or HR SMEs.

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Required
Min 10 years HR - knowledge of all HR disciplines - compensation, employee relations, training, development, general HR
Heavy non-exempt population
Multi-state and multi-location experience
People management experience of at least 5 yrs
Experience supporting VP level in operations
Must be able to travel - probably 25% (to hospital locations and corporate office)
Can live anywhere in the US
Prefer - not required
Healthcare experience
Previous HR director experience
Some union experience
Revenue cycle experience

Compensation
Pay: $114,192 to $182,416 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
