Position Summary: The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for modeling Earth Fare's Conviction and Purpose. Overall responsibilities include supporting store Team Members at all levels and company Leadership with human resources needs including employee relations, FMLA and Leaves of Absence, ADA, recruiting, benefits, metrics and reporting, and other HR functions.
Essential Functions
Serves as a resource and contact for Team Members who have HR related inquiries.
Partners and collaborates with Operations to strategize initiatives and outcomes.
Consults and guides store management on legalities and proper documentation of personnel issues, while adhering to state and federal labor laws.
Conducts investigations of internal claims/violations of company policies reported by Team Members.
Manages the HR electronic support system, which includes questions and concerns reported from store management and team members.
Oversees the unemployment process in conjunction with local government agencies, preparing for hearings and filing appeals accordingly.
Administers Team Member leave processes, including but not limited to FMLA and non-FMLA medical leaves of absence.
Participates in special HR related projects.
Maintains a clean, safe, positive and professional work environment at all times.
May support Recruitment efforts.

Required Skills

Understanding of HR related laws, principals and practices.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, Word, & Power Point. Ability to learn and utilize various HR related computer programs.
Must have a hands-on, independent and accountable communication style that encourages individual accountability/responsibility, team work and cooperation.
Must be able to work across all levels of people within the organization to successfully investigate/research, assess and make /recommend decisions on behalf of the HR Department and Earth Fare.
Must be comfortable in a facilitator role for the purpose of presenting and training small and large groups by phone, webinar and in-person.
Must maintain 100% confidentiality at all times.
Required Experience
Must have at least three (3) years of recent experience working in an HR Department with multiple areas of focus and engagement.
PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
Multi-unit experience preferred.
Retail experience a plus.

Environmental Conditions
Works in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service.
