Student Life Human Resources (SLHR) provides a full complement of talent lifecycle services to the 1200+ staff (professional and bargained-for) and approximately 3000 student staff within the Division of Student Life.
Reporting to the Staffing, Payroll and I-9 Center supervisor our Human Resources Assistant is an essential member of the team supporting our temporary workforce across the 20+ units within Student Life. You will process job postings, create job offers, enter student appointments, submit personnel action requests, manage month termination processes and complete I-9s as a part of the highest volume I9 center on campus.
We are looking for passionate service oriented individual to join our team. Someone that enjoys working in a fast pace, in a high volume team processing complex employment transactions and is excited about finding ways to improve our work processes. Day to day you will:
Use on-the-job training to process repeatable HR transactions
Process personnel action requests (PAR)
Manage job openings with eRecruit (PeopleSoft)
Submit Background checks
Prepare offer communications and ensure new employees move through the process
Enter new student appointments through the Student Employment Process (STEP, PeopleSoft)
Work in a team environment by building professional relationships
Provide excellent service to the many campus partners we serve
Lead meetings with unit supervisors and managers to support hiring needs
Provide in person training to new supervisors on processes
Employ process improvement principles to improve our processes and meet needs of our customers.
Process I-9 employment verifications in compliance with federal regulations
Be a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues
Participate on HR team projects and divisional iniatives
This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.
Relocation will not be offered for this position.
