Responsibilities

  • You will provide customer service to civilian and military personnel.

  • You will ensure timely submission of pay documents, receipts packages, transfers, separations and service record (junk Jacket) entries.

  • You will ensure records are accurate in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.

  • You will verify records to identify discrepancies and gaps in information.

  • You will interview personnel to obtain additional information as needed to complete record and/or to correct discrepancies.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintain military personnel forms, records, and files; 2) Provides information on military personnel records, policies and procedures; and 3) Enters data into automated military personnel system.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You may also qualify based on education or a combination of education and specialized experience.

Successfully completed four years of education above high school level OR have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
