The Human Resources Assistant plays a crucial role in fostering a dynamic, efficient, and engaging HR environment, primarily focused on supporting the HR Manager with recruiting and onboarding functions. The HR Assistant is responsible for maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while assisting in various HR processes.
Dixie Tech is a public technical college located on a state-of-the-art campus in St. George, Utah. The College has 29 Council on Occupational Education accredited programs that offer certifications in high-demand, high-pay professions.
The part-time position works between 20 and 28 hours per week and pays between $19 and $26 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR processes and a keen eye for detail. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both the HR Manager and other team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with applicant tracking and communication
Assist with reviewing resumes and applications
Assist with scheduling interview and preparing materials for the hiring team
Assist with coordinating orientation sessions and ensure that all necessary equipment and resources are available for new hires
Collaborate with the HR Manager to prepare and distribute new hire paperwork and orientation materials
Help create a positive and welcoming onboarding experience for new employees
Assist in tracking and reporting on employee onboarding progress
Assist with assigning and tracking employee training
Assist in analyzing data to identify areas for improvement in the recruiting and onboarding process
Collaborate with the HR Manager on various HR projects and initiatives
Provide administrative support to the HR Manager as needed
Stay updated on HR best practices and industry trends
Compliance with Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures
Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
Previous education and/or experience in human resources is preferred
Bachelor's degree, or two years of college completed with plans to complete a bachelor's degree, required
Strong communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail-oriented and able to maintain confidentiality
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite applications
The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
