Summary

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Advisor supports the Customer Experience Organization (CXO) of DISH. The main function of this position is to support HR processes in a Call Center based environment, adding value through broad spectrum HR knowledge. Additional responsibilities are to support DISH business partners and DISH HR with employee relations, compliance, training, and general compensation and benefits issues.

  • Serves as an ambassador for HR strategies, philosophies and initiatives within the organization by recommending employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

  • Participates in the review of operational business strategy and objectives to determine the implication on human resources objectives.

  • Coaches management on human resources objectives including regulatory compliance training, policy and procedures training and corporate communication initiatives.

  • Change agents who identify areas where change is needed and communicate a compelling vision for the change within the business that generates excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the process

  • Works independently on objectives. Receives little supervision and is able to schedule priorities independently according to business needs ensuring that human resources needs are met in a timely manner at all times. Is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service and accessibility to the managers and employees of DISH.

  • Develops productive working partnerships with Operations and advises management of risks associated with current business practices, recommends improvements by providing expertise to management in local, state and federal employment laws and proactively advises on recommendations and alternatives to human resources strategy to higher level managers.

Skills - Experience and Requirements

A successful HR Advisor will have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experienced in supporting at least 500 employees, across multiple business groups with 4 years of direct HR experience.

  • Solid knowledge of local, state and federal laws governing recruiting and employment issues.

  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff, including executives with competencies that include, but are not limited to: excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

  • Requires high level computer expertise, including use of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.

  • Flexible, innovative in a fast-paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.

Our operating foundation is based on our ability to operate efficiently, develop HR team members, strengthen controls, and scale technology infrastructure The Enterprise HR Shared Services Team, which provides operational and administrative services for a broad range of HR programs across the enterprise is currently searching for a highly-engaged operations manager to lead their Learning & Development Operations support team. This position will report directly to the Head of Enterprise HR Shared Services with a dotted line reporting relationship to the Head of Learning & Development and lead within a highly-matrixed organization with ample interdependencies including with HR's Solution Operations & Strategy team and others. This position will lead a team responsible for Training Assignment Consulting & Implementation, Learning System Implementation & Administration, Quality Control & Validation, Learning Logistics, L&D Schedule Implementation, Digital Publications and Library Services. The leader will ensure all services provided by the team deliver value to the organization, are delivered in an effective, efficient and compliant manner and provide a consistent and simple learner experience. In partnership with key stakeholders, this leader will ensure effective end-to-end execution of large annual events like Wells Fargo's annual compliance training. They will work with partners to design appropriate risk and quality assurance metrics and monitoring programs and ensure appropriate rigor around continuous improvement. This team is currently expanding to assume additional operational work from Learning & Development and to implement and adopt an entirely new suite of applications and will be looking to re-assess its organization to be more efficient, effective and team member centric.
