The HR Administrative Assistant is a key role in making sure all the details of the Safety organization within HR get seen to. You're a source of information for the company as well as a hand that is always ready to help no matter what the request. You need to balance responsibilities and tasks effortlessly and make sure processes and systems are followed and run smoothly.

The City of Fort Worth seeks an HR Administrative Assistant to perform administrative duties in support of the Safety Division in the Human Resources Department; the successful applicant will be able to interpret and apply human resources policies and procedures when working on the Drug & Alcohol Program, monitoring of Safety contracts, and scheduling training sessions for Safety Training purposes. Job duties require the ability to maintain confidential personnel records and information; process and verify driving information; input and retrieve a variety of personnel data and information using the PeopleSoft HR system. Applicant must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to change and work well with others. The applicant must also have strong interpersonal communication and documentation skills.

This position provides routine personnel records support to the Safety division, as well as internal business unit and external vendors. The position will involve processing a wide variety of complex personnel actions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college with major course work in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration, or related field

  • Four (4) years' of combined complex clerical and routine administrative experience required.

Other Requirements:

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint knowledge and skills required.


  • Safety experience highly preferred

  • PeopleSoft software experience highly preferred.

  • Heavy phone/heavy public contact position and office management ad/or supervisory experience a plus

  • Safety / HR certifications a plus
