HQ Bus Assistant - 188 Days (Approx. 4 Hours/Day Depending On Route)

Salary: HQ Bus Assistant $16.06 - $20.55

HQ Bus Assistants must pass the Para Pro test or have a minimum 2 years of college credit.

General Description of Duties

• Complete daily tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

• Monitor behavior and assist with the safe loading, securing, transporting, and unloading of school bus passengers.

• Act as a proper role model for staff and students at all times.

• Attend required professional development activities.

• Perform duties in a professional manner and in accordance with Mentor Exempted Village Board of Education policies and procedures.

• Perform other duties as assigned which reasonably relate to the general scope of the job description.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Qualities to Perform Essential Functions

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Possess appropriate Ohio Department of Education permit.

• Basic knowledge of first aid.

• Proficiency in reading, math, oral and written communications.

• Must pass a physical examination.

• Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
