Role Purpose & Responsibilities

Purpose

Under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator, the Clinician will work with the Street Outreach Team to provide mental health support and intervention services to individuals who are unsheltered, unhoused, experiencing housing instability or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

The clinician will focus on assessing client needs, delivering trauma informed treatment from a range of modalities and interventions, and facilitating access to appropriate resources and services as needed. This role requires the clinician to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to address complex needs and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, determine appropriate interventions, develop individualized service plans, provide mental health support, and if needed, access and connect clients to community resources (legal services, healthcare services, substance use treatment, psychiatry)

  • Work collaboratively with the street outreach team, clinical team, agency programs, community partners, first responders, and clients to meet the complex needs of those being served.

  • Handle crises as they occur. Provide supportive interventions for difficult interactions and maintain safety for all involved.

  • Act as a back up van driver as needed and maintain safe driving practices.

  • Follow agency and program protocols related to safety and crisis management.

  • Attend supervision with the Clinical Coordinator and all agency and programmatic meetings.

  • Complete all necessary documentation needed.

  • Help maintain a cleanliness and safety in the van, program sites, and community spaces.

  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications

Applicants who are bilingual, have experience working with families and individuals from diverse backgrounds, knowledgeable of trauma-informed practices and harm reduction strategies are strongly encouraged to apply!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Masters' degree in social work, mental health counseling, or related field

  • Working towards post graduate licensure

  • LCSW, LICSW or LMHC preferred

  • Ability to form strong interpersonal relationships with people from diverse backgrounds

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must be fluent in English

  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background check

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time walking up and down flights of stairs

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer

  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.

Applications/Compensation

  • Compensation/Hours: $60,000-$65,000/ 10a-6p with some flexibility to change hours to best support the program and clients needs

  • Benefits: Eligible for full benefits including Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, 403B Retirement Plan, Paid Time Off, Tuition Reimbursement
