The Housing Resource Specialist is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: providing Strength Based Housing Services to persons experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness. This role works with participants throughout the housing process for their assigned program/grant.
The Housing Resource Specialist has regular interactions with their Project Lead to ensure effective service delivery complying with contract and agency requirements. This role promotes the agency's mission and philosophy through upholding established guidelines, policies and procedures.

Coordination of supportive services offered to residents of the Hope Network Transitional Youth Housing. Provide comprehensive Strength Based Housing Services as outlined in the Housing Resource Specialist guidebook. Provide participants with program parameters; explain process and answer any questions.
Review participants' responsibilities within program. Assist participants in locating, securing and maintaining housing of their choice through the strength based model and program guidelines. Assist and encourage particpants to acquire and maintain employment.
Build partnerships withing Hope Network, and community organizations, to provide services to youth participants. Assist participants in accessing community resources that will support their goals associated with securing permanent housing. Closely monitor the services being utilized by participants; Housing Resource Specialist is responsible for quality of services provided. 3.
Maintain participant case files confidentially and in compliance with contract and agency requirements. Assess individual and family participants housing status and determine eligibility for program and service needs. Guide participants' in goal setting and building on strengths.4.
Manage and maintain program data Collect and report program data; input data into Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Complet HMIS training/certification5. Provides regular trainings and counseling to residents. Facilitate group events, trainings and consulting to participants to support income and self-sufficiency goals.
Facilitate supportive service activities for participants that promote achievement of goals and objectives, utilizing strength-based housing plan. Provide financial counseling and housing counseling6. Act as liaison between property managers/landlords and participants.
Provide advocacy for participants; support, problem resolution, and identify resources. Offer support and solutions for grievances brought by participants; Partner with Supportive Housing Service Manager. Utilize Supportive Housing Services Manager when working with challenging situations.
Offer problem resolution options for participants with property owners. Attend and participate in team and staff meetings and trainings.7. Keep up-to-date on program changes and make adjustments accordingly.
Remain up-to-date on grant guidelines, renewals and standards to ensure timely implementation of changes. Ensure rental properties meet Housing Quality Standards and are appropriate for participants.8. Participate in on-call rotation as needed.9. Other duties, as assigned or required.
Educational / Talent Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in related field or 3 years of related experience.2.
Ability to interact with people of diverse background.3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.4. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.5.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.6. Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications. (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, etc)7. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record according to Hope Network policy.
Work Experience Requirements:
1.Knowledge of Housing First strategies and philosophy.2. Experience working with HUD programs or grants. 3. Experience in non-profit organizations.4. Experience with computer software programs including spreadsheets, and word processing programs.5. Ability to take initiative, think or work independently with limited supervision once goals set, exercise good judgement, prioritize and produce results.6. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to interact with employees of all levels; active support for the mission of the corporation to various audiences. 7.
