We're looking for candidates who

  • Bachelor's degree and two to four or years of experience in an administrative role preferred.

  • Possesses working knowledge of Residence Hall style living and front desk operations.

  • Understanding of the socio-emotional and spiritual needs of college students and act upon such knowledge to create educational communities for students.

  • Are self-motivated and solve complex problems with little or no supervision.

  • Can demonstrate poise, assess needs, utilize judgment, and develop positive and wise solutions according to University protocol.

  • Communicate effectively to students, other staff and faculty, and parents, by phone, by e-mail, by memoranda, and in person.

  • Demonstrate a servant's heart and a teachable spirit.

  • Follow instructions and work cooperatively with all Residence Life and Student Development staff.

  • Enhance team dynamics in the Residence Life team.

Key Job Duties

  • Mission Contribution Statement: CCU's mission is Christ-centered higher education, transforming students to impact the world with grace and truth. In this role, the Housing Operations Assistant contributes to the mission by supporting a positive living-learning environment that will benefit the student experience.

  • Regularly update all contracts, applications, and other forms, as well as the University's data management solution(s), utilized to manage the University housing program, StarRez.

  • Ensure coverage of the Residence Life front desk

  • Ensure support of the professional staff members in the Residence Life Office.

  • Assist with Summer Conference housing and summer student housing operations

  • Ensure good customer service to those who call and email the Residence Life Office.

  • Assist with the summer storage process and key inventories.

  • Draft and manage external communication flow from the Department of Residence Life to current students, parents of residents, and married couples on campus

  • In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Residence Life and other campus departments manage and update the Residence Life calendar.

  • Maintain accurate and consistent information regarding the Residence Life program and university housing and dining services on websites and print media, and as requested by IT, University Communications, and other departments.

  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in campus life by actively participating in campus functions such as chapel, various student programming opportunities, key student events, and other areas as deemed necessary by the Associate Dean of Residence.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director or Associate Dean of Residence Life.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, you may be required to walk, stand, sit, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, speak with clarity, and have appropriate vision and hearing capabilities. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. You will be required to work occasional irregular hours, including some nights and weekends. Colorado Christian University expects all faculty and staff to become a part of the University community by participating in activities and events that occur on the campus throughout the year, which may occur during evenings and weekends.

Pay and benefits will be discussed in more detail as candidates progress through the interview process. The pay for this job is: $20 per hour. Pay is assigned by reviewing a combination of job-related factors that may include: internal/external pay equity, the salary structure/pay grade, or a candidate's qualifications/experience for the job.
