What We Offer

  • The initial compensation for this position ranges from $21-$25.83 an hour.

  • Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Scheduled Hours per Day: Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Primary responsibility is to provide security, grounds keeping and repair services for the buildings and grounds of all Agency owned and leased sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assembles furniture, assists in installing furniture, fixtures and equipment.

  • Assists with office moves; moves, hauls and stores equipment between program sites.

  • Performs minor repairs such as plumbing, plastering, painting and electrical as needed at all sites and other assigned areas.

  • Assesses major problem areas and makes recommendations to supervisor regarding maintenance or repair work needed.

  • Distributes supplies to all sites as needed and scheduled by supervisor.

  • Responds to requests for emergency clean-up, repairs or other assistance with a positive service attitude.

  • Arranges for back-up custodial services to headquarters and other sites as assigned.

  • Assists with collection and distribution of in-kind donations.

  • Develops and maintains repair and maintenance skills through seminars, workshops or other forms of training/education.

  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working order; requests supplies as needed.

  • Maintains routine records.

  • Attends and participates in staff meetings to provide input towards program development and staff training.

  • Interacts with other internal programs, clinical/support staff and external sources such as school or community personnel as applicable.

  • Reports to work on time and maintains reliable and regular attendance.

  • Models Pacific Clinics' approach, mission and core values in all communication and correspondence.

  • Communicates effectively in a culturally competent and diverse consumer population and promotes favorable interaction with managers, co-workers and others.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/INTERACTION:

Initiate and maintain professional interactions and communication with Clinic's employees and/or others.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma preferred.

  • Routine working knowledge and skills in making plumbing, plastering and electrical repairs.

  • Skills and experience in institutional cleaning and maintenance.

  • Ability to assess major repair problems and make recommendations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form. Bilingual skills in Spanish/English preferred.

  • Must possess a valid California Driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record under the Clinics' liability policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must be able to life and/or move items up to 20 lbs., and periodically up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Community outreach and local business travel is required.
