Summary of Job:

Ensuring quality and clean facilities throughout the hotel, a houseman or housekeeping employee clean lobbies, halls, guestrooms and bathrooms. A houseman stocks guest rooms with towels and linens, furnishings and any other supplies a guest may need or request.

Housekeepers also vacuum carpets, dust furniture, empty wastebaskets and mop bathroom floors. In larger hotels, a houseman staff may include assistant housekeepers, floor supervisors and executive housekeepers.

Essential Job Functions:

Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met.
Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.
Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
Sweep, scrub, wax, and/or polish floors, using brooms, mops, and/or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
Polish silver accessories and metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
Sort, count, and mark clean linens, and store them in linen closets.
Request repair services and wait for repair workers to arrive.
Deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guests' rooms.
Hang draperies, and dust window blinds.
Move and arrange furniture, and turn mattresses.
Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
Follows all required safety and standard operating procedures.
Follows all company and regulatory policies.
Reports lost and found to Hotel supervisor
Works weekends and holidays.


Requirements:


Qualifications:

High School education or GED, preferable, but no necessary.
Prior housekeeping, cleaning or customer service experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must meet company and hotel grooming standards.
Ability to work with a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
Ability to perform all duties as instructed on training.
Ability to lift 25 pounds
