Please apply to this requisition for all Housekeeping positions including Room Attendant, Turndown Attendant, Public Area Attendant, and House Person.

Basic Job Function Room Attendant:

Provide friendly, attentive, and timely service ensuring that guest rooms and public areas meet our high standard of cleanliness and are properly presented. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Tasks/Responsibilities Room Attendant:

  • Completely clean and maintain the residences for Exclusive Resorts and guest rooms which consist but not limited to:

o Properly make beds to Sea Island standards

o Clean bathrooms

o Dust

o Replenish all paper items

o Replace soiled linens with fresh linens

o Clean all glass and mirrors

o Replace burned out light bulbs

o Empty and clean ash trays

o Empty waste baskets and line them properly

o Vacuum all rooms daily

o Spot clean carpet when necessary

o Clean windows

o Clean kitchen stove and appliances if applicable

o Clean balconies and patio if applicable

o Clean patio grill, fridge, and furniture if applicable

o Re-supply guest room amenities as necessary

  • Maintain the room attendant carts, in-room and department linen closets

  • Ensure that guest rooms and the residences for Exclusive Resorts are properly supplied and ready for occupancy

  • Straighten all public spaces ensuring that they meet our high standard of cleanliness and are properly presented

  • Perform deep cleaning as instructed by Supervisor

Basic Job Function Turndown Attendant:

Provide friendly, attentive, service ensuring that the freshening of guest rooms and turndown of guest beds are accomplished in a timely manner. Ensure that guest rooms and public areas meet our high standard of cleanliness and are properly presented. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Tasks/Responsibilities Turndown Attendant:

  • Arrange bed linens and supply candy and card according to hotel standards

  • Empty and clean all ash trays and trash cans

  • Ensure that all room service trays and dishes are removed and that in room amenities are fresh or discarded

  • Ensure that all guests clothing is neatly folded and shoes paired

  • Turn on bed side lamp and adjust bedroom and bathroom lighting

  • Freshen bathrooms, replacing used items and arranging guest items

  • Close all sheers and black out drapes and or curtains

  • Replace used amenities, glasses (with caps) note pads, stationery etc.

  • Read the worksheets accurately to ensure that the turndown provided is appropriate for the number of guests in the rooms

  • Ensure that guest rooms are properly supplied

  • Ensure that all worksheets are completed fully and completely prior to handing them to the supervisor at the end of the shift

  • Ensure that all keys and pagers are signed out and in and handled in a secure fashion

  • Ensure that all guest items are handled cautiously and ensure that all doors are locked after the service is complete

  • Ensure that all housekeeping supplies are returned to their correct location and that carts are cleaned in preparation for the following shift

  • Straighten all public spaces ensuring that they meet our high standard of cleanliness and are properly presented

Basic Job Function House Person:

Provide friendly, attentive, and timely service that includes but not limited to; perform physical assistance including lifting and moving heavy objects. Perform physically demanding household duties. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality. Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.

Tasks/Responsibilities House Person:

  • Move furniture or heavy objects as instructed by management

  • Wash soiled glasses in appropriate dish washer and deliver to section

  • Transport soiled linens to a designated pick up point. Assist with the delivery of clean linens and distribution

  • Wash windows, patio furniture, patio railings and floors, mats outside of rooms, entry doors, elevators, stairwells, ash urns, walls and light fixtures

  • Maintain furniture on and sweeps patios and balconies

  • Clean cobwebs in areas

  • Assist in deep clean project

  • Stock supplies and linens evenly throughout the section

  • Keep elevators, ice rooms, closets and any other storage and public area clean and free of trash and debris

  • Take trash to dumpsters

  • Install all rollaway beds, cribs, and bed boards, refrigerators, microwaves, and dehumidifiers for guest rooms

  • Ensure the guest room is properly supplied and ready for occupancy

  • Properly maintain all equipment used and store in designated areas

Additional Tasks/Responsibilities All Positions:

  • Learn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and Members

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability

  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas

  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing

  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures

  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately

  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement

  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Minimum Requirements:

  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • CPR certification preferred

  • Houseperson Only - Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review. Valid Georgia Driver's license is required.

  • First Aid certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods

  • If applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
