JOB OVERVIEW: Assist the Housekeeping team with supplies, linens, and removal of trash and other housekeeping duties. Responsible for achieving the required standards of cleanliness, product presentation and customer care in all guest rooms and public areas in order to create a warm, friendly, comfortable and luxury environment for our guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Room Attendants with housekeeping and cleaning services in assigned guest rooms and public areas.

  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, banquet areas, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that housekeeping standards are met.

  • Remain, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.

  • Ensure that the appropriate level of security for all guest belongings is achieved, aiding in creating a feeling of comfort and confidence for guests.

  • Collect soiled linen for laundering.

  • Assemble, sort and deliver clean linen and supplies, and refill the par stock of linen on each floor pantry.

  • Remove trash collected by room attendants, transport trash and waste to disposal areas.

  • Carry linens, towels, toiletry items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.

  • Assist with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces.

  • Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.

  • Vacuum and cleans floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes.

  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.

  • Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.

  • Deliver towels, cribs, roll-ways beds and other items to the guest rooms on requests.

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.

  • Refill the par stock of guest amenities and supplies on each floor pantry.

  • Keep storage areas organized, clean, and tidy.

  • Assist room attendants with moving heavy furniture and turning mattresses, and with heavy lifting during deep cleaning.

  • Inform supervisor of needed supplies and materials.

  • Report any technical issues and maintenance needs.

  • Report suspicious activity to security department.

  • Maintain confidentiality of guests.

  • Report all Lost and Found items to a manager if guest has checked out.

  • Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures and is aware of accident prevention policies.

  • Completes deep cleaning tasks as assigned by a supervisor.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Wash outside windows and screens.

  • Assist in the laundry room area loading washers and dryers and folding sheets.

  • Clean and set-up other public areas of the hotel (pool, ballroom, offices, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous hotel housekeeping experience.

  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest service.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with guests and co-workers.

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.

  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.

  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.

  • Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.

  • Ability to interact with guests and co-workers in a pleasant, friendly way.

  • Ability to provide professional, attentive and impeccable service in order to achieve great customer satisfaction.

  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Desirable:

  • Previous luxury housekeeping training.

  • Fluent in a secondary language.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.

  • Able to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures on a continuous schedule.
