About the Position

The Housekeeping Manager manages Custodial Supervisors in all housekeeping procedures overseeing trustee labor in all MCSO jail facilities (1 million square feet).

Position Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • Three (3) years of construction or maintenance, lead, or supervisory experience.

Other requirements

  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire.

  • Training that may be provided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS - IS100 and 700; Safety; Payroll; PREA.

  • Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background review.

Essential Job Tasks

(This is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required; employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned.)

  • Communicates effectively in oral and written formats.

  • Coordinates and participates in training and safety programs for the Custodial and Quality Assurance personnel.

  • Orders, controls, receives, and assigns all supplies, cleaning chemicals, and equipment for assigned areas.

  • Generates work orders for special projects.

  • Maintains knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Hazmat, and Arizona Safety and Health Laws and regulations.

  • Monitors personnel performance and conducts regular coaching sessions; administers employee performance appraisals.

  • Promotes, coaches, and leads employees to participate in process improvement teams and encourages employee suggestions.

  • Fosters continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility and evaluates methods to reduce creating costs.

  • Performs administrative functions such as payroll time entry, monthly activity reports, performance and trend charts.

  • Participates and assists in special projects and implementation of new programs and methods

  • Provides exemplary customer service via email, telephone, and in person.

  • Communicate effectively in oral and written formats with varied groups and individuals.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

The hiring authority will select the successful candidate based on departmental needs.

All offers of employment made to new hires and rehires at Maricopa County are contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer, pre-employment thorough background investigation. A background investigation is conducted on a current employee who changes to a Safety Sensitive Position or one having the potential for serious adverse impact on the integrity or efficiency of the County. These requirements do not pertain to employees of elected officials who undergo background investigation processes administered through their respective offices.

Typically, successful candidates are hired at a salary rate, up to midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience, internal equity and budgetary allowances.
