Department: Maintenance/Housekeeping

Reports to: Housekeeping Director

Summary:

Housekeeping Team Members are responsible for thorough and outstanding cleanliness of the entire acac facility, with particular attention to high traffic areas and the operation of the laundry room. The objective is to maintain a spotless appearance through regular, safe, thorough, systematic housekeeping duties. We are looking for service superstars who are reliable, ready to learn on the job, can work efficiently and with minimal supervision while upholding acac's dedication to team work and customer service.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Works directly with the Housekeeping Team to efficiently maintain the highest standard of cleanliness throughout the facility while providing outstanding customer service

  • Continually cleans and details the locker room areas during facility hours of operation

  • Continually walks through club and locker rooms throughout the shift to ensure tidy and clean spaces and areas

  • Follows specific cleaning list/duties as assigned by supervisor, to include but not limited to: cleaning exercise equipment, exercise studios, glass and windows, common areas, lobby, and/or stairwell; detailed cleaning of all locker room areas with particular attention to showers, toilets, and sink/vanities; vacuuming assigned areas; collecting and disposing of trash as needed throughout the shift; cleaning or helping in other areas as needed; replenishing all toilets and bathrooms with paper products, shampoo, and soaps

  • Maintains extremely clean, organized work areas with good care and secure storage of all housekeeping equipment and supplies

  • Cleans, details, or replenishes supplies for common areas, aquatic, fitness, spa, cafe, exercise, Kids Zone, and conference room areas as requested

  • Collects soiled towels from around club to be washed and dried

  • Maintains a supply of clean towels and restocks towels as needed or requested in different areas of the club

  • As needed or requested, helps train new staff

  • Initiates interactions and communicates using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamwork

  • Arrives to work in time to prepare for scheduled shift

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs the Essential Functions and Responsibilities as described (other duties may be assigned)

  • Remains competent in administering acac's Emergency Action Plan and is alert and prepared for any emergency

  • If unable to work, proactively seeks substitutes for shifts and immediately informs supervisor of the substitution

  • Wears proper uniform at all times while at work and always presents the acac brand and standard anytime and anywhere the acac uniform is worn

  • Attends departmental meetings and any other meetings as requested

  • If not already certified, attends CPR and First Aid training provided by acac and maintains current CPR/FA certification for the duration of employment

  • Attends New Hire Launch within 30 days of employment

  • Checks acac email daily

  • Ensures that time worked does not exceed 40 hours during the pay week (Sunday-Saturday); any overtime worked must be pre-approved by the supervisor

  • Reads, signs, and abides by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook

  • Parks in team member designated areas

  • Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; helps whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean

  • Helps with Service Day

  • Helps with acac programs, special events, or activities outside department

  • When supervisor or team members call or email, promptly returns contact

  • Exhibits a positive attitude at all times and upholds acac's values of teamwork, customer service, and engagement

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred

  • Must be available to work during the hours outlined in the Job Description

  • Able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Willing and able to work as a substitute outside of assigned days/shifts

  • Willing to help both within and outside of the parameters of this position

  • Able to operate industrial laundry equipment

  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications a plus

  • Must be able to walk, bend, reach, stretch, and use repetitive arm and leg motions for duration of shift

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to carry a vacuum back pack

  • Safety and customer service oriented

  • Superior customer service skills
