Job Summary :

Seeking flexibility to schedule as needed (PRN) to cover scheduling needs, evening shift 3pm-11pm. Some weekends, holidays. No guaranteed hours but could become full or part time with benefits in the future.

Provide a positive image of the hospital and medical centers and other hospital owned or managed facilities through maintaining and continually improving a clean, orderly, immaculate and safe work environment. Supports and serves the needs of all our customers: patients, associates, visitors, physicians, volunteers, contractors, vendors, and public, by performing non-clinical tasks in a professional and hospitable manner.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Apply seven-step cleaning process to maintain optimal cleanliness and safety of assigned areas according to the Support Services Policies/Procedures and Standards.

  • High dust

  • Sanitizing and spot cleaning

  • Empty wastebaskets/Removing soiled linen/Change sharps containers

  • Bathroom cleaning

  • Floor dusting/Vacuum

  • Floor sanitizing

  • Your inspection

  • Complete any unscheduled work as directed by supervisor.

  • Replenish room supplies.

  • Make beds and perform dismissal cleaning as assigned.

  • Project cleaning of walls, windows, carpets, furniture, blinds, cubicle curtains, etc.

  • Deliver supplies, pharmaceutical supplies, and medical records to Satellite campuses.

  • Inspect areas assigned and work performed to ensure cleanliness.
    2.Laundry/Pack Room


Clean linen processing:

  • Sort, dry, iron, fold, pack, store and distribute clean linens to designated receiving areas according to applicable policies, procedures and standards.

  • Keep linen room/work area in clean and orderly condition.

  • Conduct linen inventories.

  • Maintain daily linen par levels by area by cart.

  • Fill linen orders for satellite campuses.

  • Document/report daily linen usage and orders filled via linen tracking system.

  • Monitor and maintain Quality Assurance tools/systems.

Pack room:

  • Inspect all surgical linens for holes, tears, and lint.

  • Maintain linen life tracking grids.

  • Mend or stamp linen as required.

  • Perform liquid barrier test as required or as needed.

  • Pack components as instructed per case specifications.

  • Monitor and maintain Quality Assurance tools/systems.
    3.Combined Housekeeping/Laundry

  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report repairs needed immediately.

  • Know and demonstrate the correct use of chemicals, supplies and tools assigned.
    4.Minimum Performance Standards: Fulfill Hendricks Regional Health Minimum Performance Standards, i.e. attendance, orientation/training, departmental meetings, uniform, etc.
    5.Support Services Department Standards: Use department standards as guides to learning, performing, and evaluating work. Department standards are vital to both individual and departmental performance appraisal.
    6.Guest Relations: Demonstrate courtesy, compassion and respect in interactions with all customers through good hospitality skills and behavior.
    7.Legal/Regulatory Compliance: Protect the welfare of patients and staff and support legal/regulatory compliance by properly reporting any evidence of abuse, neglect, or harassment, or any other questionable activities.
    8.Confidentiality/Privacy: Protects the right to privacy for all patients and/or Hospital associates.
    9.Teamwork: Support the goals, objectives, and standards of the Support Services team by maintaining an attitude of cooperation, collaboration, and constructive communication.

  • Demonstrate awareness of unassigned and uncompleted tasks/responsibilities and take initiative to complete them.

  • Offer assistance to peer associates to complete tasks/responsibilities in a thorough and timely fashion.

  • Encourage/assist others whenever possible to improve job knowledge and skills.

  • Find and support ways for the Support Services team to better utilize resources to deliver the best possible services.

  1. Observe and report the need to repair furniture, buildings and fixtures.
  2. In case of fire or other internal disaster or community disaster, perform duties as assigned.
  3. Report safety concerns, unsafe incidents, and associate injuries immediately to supervisor and completes the electronic "Event Notification".
  4. Know and apply Material Safety Data and Hazardous Communications.
  5. Know and apply Infection Control Policy/Procedures.
  6. Know and apply Emergency Preparedness/Safety Policy/Procedures.
  7. Know and apply Support Services Policy/Procedures.

Education and Experience Required:
1.High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
2.Previous related experience preferred.

Seeking flexibility to be scheduled 8-hour shifts for day, evenings, and weekend shifts as needed. Prior patient care experience desired but willing to train. Summary: To support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care through use of a combination of direct patient care, communication modes, client care support and clerical functions that is patient and family centered in an environment that exemplifies best practice and customer service and fosters relationship based care. Job Description Essential Responsibilities: 1. Fiscal Responsibility a. Completes assignment within time frame delegated. * Assists in transferring, receiving, discharging and transporting clients. * Within one hour of reporting for duty, rounds on units to collect/transport specimens and rounds on all units/departments, every hour to collect specimens and transport to appropriate department. b. Assumes responsibility for transportation area and reports equipment malfunctions. This includes appearance and cleanliness of area, restocking of area, completing work orders, and securing departmental supplies as directed. c. Demonstrates Time and Supply Management * Uses time productively. * Answers pages and/or returns calls in a timely manner. * Supports leadership and implementation of scheduling and supply change to provide quality, cost effective care. * Uses supplies and equipment judiciously. d. Supports Staffing/Scheduling Needs * Calls in at least two hours prior to scheduled shift if unable to work. * Complies with EDO policy and reassignment of staff in Staffing Guidelines policy. * Seeks approval for vacation, unscheduled overtime and arranges equal trades within job category after schedule posted and completes appropriate schedule request. * Reports to work and leaves on time; returns from breaks and lunch periods on time. Patient Safety a. Transports patients safely to and from areas within the hospital as needed, utilizing 2 patient identifiers, safe patient mobilization and fall prevention interventions. * Checks on mode of transportation needed, special needs of patient (oxygen, IV stand, etc.), and signs patient out of Nursing Department. * Follows hospital procedure in wheelchair, cart usage, using locks, brakes, straps. Follow hospital procedure for any necessary patient accessories, such as catheter bags, chest tubes, etc. b. Introduces self to patient, confirms patient identification by armband and prepares patient for transport. c. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during transport, practices aseptic techniques as necessary, and initiates basic life support action when necessary. d. Announces arrival of patient to requesting department and signs patient back in upon return to Nursing Department or assists patient into vehicle when transporting discharged patient. 5. Professional Growth a. Identifies own limitations and seeks assistance when needed, taking a self directed approach to learning activities or skills and follows-up on recognized needs and correction plans. b. Shares knowledge and skills with colleagues and others including orientation and cross-training. c. Demonstrates leadership and is a role mode and resource for peers as an active council member, super user, or preceptor. d.
