As assigned, and within established safety guidelines, maintains a clean, orderly, sanitary, and aseptic environment for the patients, the public, and hospital staff.

  • Clean patient areas daily including sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing bathroom and shower, and emptying and cleaning trash cans.
  • Sweep all entrances to Hospital beginning with the front on a daily basis and as needed. Pick up litter at entrances and empty trash cans.
  • Maintain orderly condition of utility and storage rooms.
  • Distribute laundered articles and linens.
  • Disinfect areas by scrubbing and spraying.
  • Dust mop and wet mop tile floor hallways, waiting rooms, offices, and entrances daily.
  • Empty wastebaskets and reline with plastic bags.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
  • Dust furniture and polish metalwork.
  • Wipe walls, woodwork, windows, doors, and window sills, using ladder as necessary.
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Prepare labels and use detergents, germicides, and other chemical cleaners.
  • Report any unusual problems and faulty equipment to Director.
  • Replenish work cart supplies, as needed.
  • Disinfect all cleaning equipment at the end of each day.
  • Move furniture and equipment, as directed.
  • Take rotating call, as assigned.
  • Abides by Hospital policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Assures all tasks are performed in compliance with all State and Federal statutory and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • PRN (as needed).
  • Some weekends, holidays, and call.
  • Six (6) months related experience preferred.
