Job Summary:
The hotel Housekeeper is an hourly position reporting directly to the Executive Housekeeper and/or Lead Housekeeper. The Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotel guest rooms.

Essential Functions:

Housekeeping Operations:

  • Greets guests with friendly and professional manner

  • Maintains brand and company standard for cleanliness in hotel guest areas

  • Stocks housekeeping carts with supplies

  • Strip and removes linens, used amenities and trash from guest rooms

  • Cleans guest rooms, as assigned, which includes: making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows / tracks and replenishing linens and amenities

  • Reports rooms as clean and available

  • Reports maintenance deficiencies to maintain compliance with brand standards

  • Demonstrates working knowledge of the service standards

  • Delivers special request items such as cribs, roll-a-ways, extra linen, etc. to guestrooms

  • Rotates linens and stocks linens in storerooms

  • Maintains housekeeping cart organization

  • Replenishes storeroom supplies

  • Removes trash and dirty linens from housekeeping carts

  • Other duties as assigned

Safety and Security:

  • Complies with safety protocols such as glove use and cart placement while performing cleaning

  • Recognizes, reports, and corrects conditions which may create security and safety hazards

  • Understands and adheres to policies and procedures for the hotel's key control system

  • Participates in on-going safety training

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and be organized

  • Good time management skills

  • Ability to exercise good judgment

  • Ability to schedule, prioritize, and perform work

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

  • Ability to complete Brand required training within Brand specified timeframe

  • Ability to obtain CPR Certification

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED, preferred

  • Prior hospitality housekeeping experience preferred

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

  • Ability to push/pull up to 200lb housekeeping cart

  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles, etc.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and be able to bend at the waist and stretch above the head

  • This position works with and around several different chemicals during the course of the day

  • This position works with and around blood borne pathogens

The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, cleanup of breakfast preparation and service area, greeting each guest and providing excellent customer service. Essential Functions: * Greets and provides warm professional service to all guests * Demonstrates a commitment to guest service by proactively responding to guest needs * Sets up and replenishes breakfast service area with food, serving products and utensils * Maintains breakfast service area in an attractive, organized, clean manner and per brand standard * Completes a daily inventory of food, beverage and supplies * Orders food, beverage and supplies * Maintains cleanliness and stocks beverage machines/dispensers (coffee, juice, etc.) * Upon completion of serving hours breaks down and thoroughly cleans service area * Clears and cleans tables as vacated by guests * Washes serving equipment and returns to storage * Remove trash * Returns reusable food supplies to storage * Other duties as assigned Safety and Security: * Adheres to safe food handling practices * Ensures compliance with all applicable codes and regulations * Recognizes, reports, and corrects conditions which may create security and safety hazard * Participates in on-going safety training Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Excellent customer service skills * Previous experience in food handling/service * Ability to multi-task and be organized * Good time management skills * Ability to exercise good judgment * Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English * Ability to complete Brand required training within Brand specified timeframe * Ability to obtain certification in food handling/service * Ability to obtain CPR Certification Education and Experience: * High school diploma/GED * Certification in food handling/service- preferred Physical and Environmental Conditions: * Ability to lift 50lbs * Ability to push/pull up to 200lb cart * Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and be able to bend at the waist and stretch above the head * This position works with and around several different chemicals during the course of the day Cherry Cove Lexington Park MD
