Overview

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Light Housekeeper in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Position Summary

  • Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas and shift(s) to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • The light housekeeper is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule.

  • Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.

  • The light housekeeper performs a variety of tasks, such as dust mopping and damp mopping floors in all areas including entry ways, corridors, etc. Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.

  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms including sinks, tubs, floors and commodes.

  • Is responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitizing of patient room furniture, as well as sitting room and dining room furniture.

  • Removes and disposes of trash and relieves laundry staff as needed, and performs all other related duties as assigned.

  • Represents HCSG in a positive manner; is able to follow oral instructions, is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers and client staff

  • Interacts appropriately with residents, client, other personnel, supervisor and the public.

  • Responds to customer preferences, complies with industry and federal and state guidelines, and meets the needs of residents.

  • Must respond to the paging system in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Follows infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is maintained at all times. Follow proper reporting, isolation and handwashing procedures/techniques.

  • The light housekeeper consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with others.

  • Ability to cooperate with co-workers, residents, and facility staff.

  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.

  • After the training period is completed, must be able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.

  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all in-services.

  • Must be able to be at work as schedule on time.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

VIEW JOBS 1/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-06T00:00 Position Summary: Ensures that standards of cleanliness are maintained in guest accommodations with proper placement of supplies in units. Supervises room attends on the floors. Checks reported status of units and reports back to Executive Housekeeper for release to the front desk. Specific Duties: * Smile * Receives the list of units vacated by guests, and informs the housekeeping associate assigned to his/her area which units need to be cleaned. * Supervises the work of housekeeping associates in assigned area, and ensures that all work is done properly by inspecting beds, furniture, bathrooms, etc. Reports work poorly done and issues a call back. * Checks units to ensure that lights are properly working. Inspects for needed repairs, such as torn carpet or wallpaper, and painting needs. Calls work orders into the housekeeping office. * Instructs and trains new housekeeping associate in their assigned duties and responsibilities and observes their capabilities while working. * Checks all vacant units. * Checks section housekeepers for uniforms, grooming, name badges and keys. * Checks all housekeeping vans for linens, supplies, and neatness. * Reports any unusual activity of appearance to Executive Housekeeper. * Sees that storerooms are cleaned and stocked with linen supplies daily. * Checks assigned area at close of day making sure all equipment and supplies are stored and locked securely. * Picks up keys at close of day and returns to Executive Housekeeper. * Reports unit status in assigned area at end of day to the Front Desk. * Assists in special projects such as inventory control, VIP requests and monthly room inspection checks. * Provides courteous guest service and responds promptly to guest questions, complaints and requests. * When needed, will assist in cleaning units or in the laundry. * All other duties as assigned. Job Specifications: Physical Demands: Requires walking and standing to a significant degree. Requires ability to perform housekeeping chores (cleaning units or assisting in the laundry) which involve lifting, bending, stretching, and reaching. Requires the ability to lift 25-30 pounds infrequently. Requires ability to communicate both orally and in writing with guests and co-workers. . Environmental Conditions: Inside and outside. Essential Skills: Requires knowledge of applicable standards and procedures. Supervisory/Management skills: development of housekeeping staff. Ability to perform training and to assist in professional development of the housekeeping staff. Ability to maintain records and communicates effectively with members of other hotel departments. Must have the ability to professionally represent the hotel, deal positively with the public, and possess pleasant telephone manner.
