Job Summary:
As a Housekeeper, you will perform a variety of housekeeping activities to maintain the Center in an attractive and sanitary condition.
Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records"; and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act". This position has restricted access to patient health information.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, tubs and showers, day rooms
Clean offices, classrooms, public areas, laundry rooms, and nurses' stations
Clean all fixtures and accessories in all areas
Vacuum and spot-clean all carpeted areas
Sweep and mop all tile and concrete areas
Pull trash
Replenish paper towels, soap, toilet paper, and liquid soap, as needed
Water shrubs and plants inside the facility
Issue linens and ensure adequate linen supply by taking regular inventories
Monitor inventory of housekeeping chemicals and supplies and report to Supervisor
Must be able to work cooperatively with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner
Regular attendance
Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor
Required Skills/Abilities:
At least 2 years of professional cleaning experience is preferred
Works well independently and has strong time management skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate with people
Follows written and verbal instructions from the supervisor
Flexible with schedule
Education:
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to push carts, equipment, and supplies to all areas of the facility
Must be able to lift trash and linen weighing from 25 to 35 lbs.
Must be able to bend, stoop and climb
Must be able to use mops, brooms, vacuums, wall washing equipment, and high dusting equipment, which would require working below waist level up to overhead level
Must be able to see 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear clearly (hearing assist devices accepted)
Walk within the facility approximately three (3) miles per 8-hour shift
If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence
