Job Summary

The House Manager is responsible for overseeing performance arrangements for every event held at UCCC. Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house volunteer staff, overseeing audience safety and comfort, administering general building services during an event. Acts as liaison between tenant and UCCC in a non-technical capacity. Assignments will include working evenings and weekends. Ensure follow-through on all details for event. Verifies the UCCC is correctly set and prepared for tenant's use. Conducts pre-show meetings with volunteer staff to assign responsibilities and place equipment and programs. Works with ticket office and stage manager to ensure events begin on time and to tenant's satisfaction. Checks public area for security at conclusion of events.

HOURS/SCHEDULE:

Flexible and varied - generally will not exceed 19 hours per week. Must be available days, evenings and weekends.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills

  • Prior customer service experience;

  • Desire to work in Performing Arts environment in a service capacity;

  • English/Spanish bilingual skills helpful.

  • Ability to work well and communicate effectively with patrons, tenants, and staff;

  • Ability to organize and supervise volunteers;

  • Ability to interpret, follow and communicate policies and procedures;

  • Ability to show initiative, quick thinking and quick response.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand and climb stairs in performing arts center environment for several hours at a time;

  • Ability to assist in setting up tables, chairs and equipment as needed;

  • Vision enough to perform above functions, read printed instructions.

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-08T00:00 Job Summary This hourly, non-benefited position involves the operation of coaches in fixed routes and para-transit services. Part-time Bus Drivers may work 15-30 hours per week Monday through Sunday with work hours that may include some split shifts. Work hours per week will vary depending on UNC schedule. Possession of CDL license with B-P2 endorsements is high desired, however otherwise qualified candidates may be considered. Hourly drivers may be considered for benefited positions as they become available. NOTE: If you are invited to interview, you will be required to bring a copy of your current driving record to the interviews. These records are available through the Motor Vehicle Department. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Vision enough to perform functions such as operate buses and vans while complying with all traffic regulations; * Hearing and speech enough to communicate over the two-way radio to obtain and clarify dispatched information; * Strength enough to push, pull and assist non-ambulatory passengers on and off the Bus (ability to lift 75#); * Manual dexterity enough to coordinate the movement of limbs simultaneously to operate controls, pedals, levers, and switches on buses and vans.
