HOTEL SALES MANAGER
Resonsible for selling and contracting group business. Additionally this position serves as the primary contact for all assigned groups during pre-convention planning and on-site, to include all meeting requirements, food/beverage, audio visual, rooming lists, VIP amenities, billing requirements, arrival and departure patterns, and transportation. Manager coordinates and communicates the needs of group, the operations departments in the form of a Banquet Event Order, Group Cover Sheet, verbally and by email.
This position is responsible for achieving goals within set market to include: sleeping room quantity, average daily rates, food and beverage revenues, audio visual revenues, and guest satisfaction scores.
Reports to the Director of Hotel Sales.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Provides accurate and timely information to Convention Services Team and Convention Center Team.
Is responsible for booking goals and service goals.
Actively participates in daily stand ups and weekly sales meetings.
Follows approved SOPs.
Proactively solicits and qualifies new business opportunities in assigned market.
Responds to incoming business opportunities within 24 business hours.
Sets and monitors market specific SMART quarterly action plans.
Completes tasks and assignments on or before due dates.
Maintains relationships with assigned accounts and competitive counterparts.
Responsible for catering functions from development of initial contact with client through final billing of event.
Establishes preferred vendor recommendation lists for resort.
Negotiates function space, minimum revenue commitment, food and beverage prices, room rates, room blocks, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
Attend to details ensuring that work is accurate, thorough and to the highest standards, fostering trust and cooperation among co-workers and customers.
Communicates last minute details and attendee guarantee numbers
by assigned dates to the Chefs, Banquet Staff, Audio Visual Team, Front Desk
and other relevant departments.
Provides requested Diagrams to customers and banquet set up team.
Audits assigned group billing for accuracy
Participates in all sales blitz, attends industry events to maximize hotel sales and revenues.
Respond to voicemail and email within one business working day.
Prioritizes tasks based on due dates and revenue goals.
Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base and sales opportunities.
Conducts creative, memorable, and effective site tours.
Establishes client rapport, entertains qualified potential clients in accordance with approved SOPs.
Assists fellow team members and DOS in overall sales objectives and strategies.
Ensures current and prospective client databases (Delphi) are maintained and paperless files are kept current and accessible.
Other duties as assigned.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

Ability to generate revenue through event sales.
Ability to work long hours, 5-6 days per week.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Must have a valid NM Drivers License.
College degree in restaurant/hotel field or equivalent experience is required.
Two (2) years experience in catering/banquet field
Additional experience with social events that would require food and beverage space.
One (1) year of supervisory experience.
Any combination of six (6) years of Education and Food and Beverage Management may be considered.
Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
