Job Summary:

The Hotel Manager reports to the General Manager of the Pines Lodge and Osprey hotels and assists with oversight of all lodging operations, food and beverage, engineering, housekeeping and HOA management. The Hotel Manager is responsible for hotel and rental management operations, staffing and customer satisfaction. The Hotel Manager will also assist with HOA oversight, 3rd party Grouse Mountain Grill owner relations, property maintenance and appearance, meeting RockResorts and Vail Resorts brand standards. The Hotel Manager leads Epic Service by creating memorable experiences and emotional connections with the team, guests and homeowners. Success in this position is well-maintained properties, and highly satisfied staff, guests and homeowners.

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time / Year Round

  • Expected Pay Range: $66,100 - $87,110 + annual bonus

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest levels of Safety protocols for our guests and employees

  • Provide daily oversight and support to operation managers and employees. This includes, but is not limited to scheduling, payroll, coaching and counseling, and involvement in hiring and termination procedures.

  • Analyze systems and operational procedures. Evaluate and implement new systems as required.

  • Meet and exceed customer expectations as measured by Net Promoter score through proactive lodging, food and beverage, and group/conference management and relations.

  • Assist GM with develop and execute properties' strategic plans with departmental leaders and 3rd party stakeholders

  • Exhibit keen financial acumen, creating and managing departmental budgets, including forecasting, variances and revenue management

  • Assist GM with capital improvement planning, budgets and execution for the hotels

  • Work closely with Revenue Management, Reservations, and Resort Sales teams to maximize revenue, occupancy and RevPAR. Responsible for daily monitoring of rooms inventory, rate and plan availability.

  • Collaborate with other Managers in-resort as well as cross-divisional resort leaders to resolve challenges and provide seamless Experiences of a Lifetime for guests. Lead divisional culture focused on Safety and Epic Service.

  • Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and develop staff members to optimize leadership skills

  • Support guest recovery opportunities as necessary

  • Perform line staff duties when necessary due to business or staffing volumes

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred

  • 5+ years lodging and hospitality experience required, with specific experience in leading department heads

  • Proven experience with and passion for providing excellent service

  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid Colorado Driver License and ability to complete a Motor Vehicle Report on hire

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required - proficiency with property management software and property maintenance software preferred

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $66,100 - $87,110 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
