Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa is looking for a Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Description: The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for assisting in ensuring that the physical property/equipment, and life safety systems are all in working condition while supporting the overall success of the hotel operations. Duties will be the ability to repair routine preventative maintenance issues in guest rooms as well as responding to emergency situations. The Maintenance Engineer must be able to work independently and as part of a team and must be able to communicate effectively with hotel staff and guests.

Essential Functions:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

• Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages, floods, and fire alarms.

• Respond and attend to guest repair requests

• Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, plunges toilets, repairing leaky spigots and faucets

• Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.

• Report any maintenance problems, equipment failure, and safety hazards to Chief Engineer/Management immediately.

• Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities, as required

• Communicate with guests, management, fellow team members to resolve maintenance issues.

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure their longevity and efficiency.

• Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.

• Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies.

• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering

• Demonstrate a positive attitude while being a team player

• Perform other duties as requested by management

• Follow all company policies/procedures, safety & security policies/procedures

Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Must be willing to learn general knowledge of plumbing systems, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and telephones.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

• Physical abilities include lifting up to 50 lbs. over your head, climb ladders, stoop, bend and kneel.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

• Must pass background check

Experience:

• Guest services: 2 years (Preferred)

• Maintenance Engineer experience: minimum of 2 years' experience in hotel maintenance or a related field

• Work duties may include exerting up to 50 pounds or more of force frequently or constantly by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects.

Availability:

• Must be available to work, days, evenings, weekends, & holidays.
