To manage and coordinate all Hotel IT daily needs as required by Marriott's direction; Responsible for the oversight and resource management in all Information Technology related issues. To be thoroughly familiar with the capabilities and operation of basic and specialized types of IT infrastructure and equipment. Ability to learn new programs and open to technical training as directed by Marriott to perform needed upgrades to Hotel computers and systems, while maintaining PCI standards. Research and implement new capital related projects to improve current operating systems, with the coordination of Marriott IT.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes, ensure systems meet Vail Resorts and Marriott data standards.

  • Assets and educates as to implement and dictate a support network where anyone is able to follow appropriate steps to resolve issues advocates to become self-reliant on troubleshooting issues

  • To observe and correct any deficiencies apparent in the overall operation.

  • To implement and dictate a support network where anyone is able to follow appropriate steps to resolve issues.

  • To secure the equipment from theft following all security procedures.

  • Hotel Wide IT responsibility: Maximize Enterprise Value, Drive Business / IT Convergence , Manage Data as a Business Asset, Design for Agility, Deliver Appropriate Quality & Manage the Life Cycle .

  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes, ensure systems meet Vail Resorts and Marriott data standards.

  • Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures.

  • Ensure data is properly managed, controlled and secured according to PCI-DSS standards.

  • Direction in growing the goods and services provided in line with the constant changes as it relates to the technology field.

  • Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations.

  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time.

  • Preserve assets, information security and control structures.

  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness

Requirements -

  • High school diploma or experience

  • 3+ year previous IT experience

  • Valid CO Driver's License

  • Excellent proficiency of technical usage of computers. Must know Macs & PCs and how they interface with equipment. Microsoft Office required.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak complex English

  • Flexible schedule

  • Information Technology & Marriott knowledge - preferred

Oversees complex and VIP client functions to ensure guests have the highest quality experience, while maintaining a profitable department. Acts as a liaison between sales manager and customer throughout the event process (pre-event planning, on site, and post-event). Develops strong working relationships with all hotel departments to ensure guest needs are met and communication is at an optimum. Assists with training and development of the Event Management team. Oversees monthly financials for the department as it relates to forecasted group spend. Ability to make decisions on behalf of the Event Management team. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to; * Assists in the selection, training and development, and supervision of the Event Management team * Must possess excellent organization, customer service, and conflict resolution skills * Ability to take constructive action without relying on directions from others * Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk * Strong problem-solving skills; encourages new innovative solutions * Meets with customers as needed to plan and coordinate events * Prepares professional correspondence for customers, internal booking reports and documents (Banquet Event Orders, Group Resumes, pre and post event documentation, and additional reports as requested * Financial management skills e.g., ability to analyze P&L statements, develop basic operating budgets, forecasting and basic capital expenditure planning * Ownership over monthly catering forecast with a focus on accuracy * Manages group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups * Maintain, update and project group catering revenue and room block information for assigned groups * Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with clients prior to final bill processing * Attends daily/weekly meetings as required and communicates relevant information to the operational areas in an accurate and timely manner * Identifies operational opportunities associated with assigned groups, and work with hotel staff and customer to address / solve * Is actively involved in revenue enhancement programs to increase the sales of conference and catered events * Ensures that the guest experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service, and quality of food and beverage by adhering to resort standards * Remains on the cutting edge of industry trends and is capable of selling / delivering exceptional and memorable events * Ensures the Event Management team leads the charge in regard to Event Satisfaction success (educating staff and clients about ESS surveys / scores, and being the hotel leader in continually improving scores). Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree * 4 Years Event Management Experience * MS Office, Marriott systems to include: CI/TY, PMS, Marsha, Passkey * English only required.
