What Will I Be Doing?

Most people know what a Hotel General Manager does. You are the one who implements and ensures the brand standards are followed and carried out with each interaction.

What is sometimes left out is being the person who ignites the passion, leads by examples, serves the team and fosters personal and professional development. For this brand new 143-room hotel, you will assist in the selection of your team members and help to ensure they present the service standards as established by Hilton. The hotel has a full-service restaurant and the GM will oversee those operations. As with all hotel operations, there will be kinks that have to be worked out and you must be willing to accept that challenge.

What Experience is Needed to Be Successful?

Ideally you will have a degree in Hospitality Management or related fields and at least 2-4 years in a leadership role with a proven track record for success with your team. If you don't have a degree, comparable experience in hospitality with leadership responsibilities is also considered. Experience or certifications in learning development, training, coaching and performance management techniques is also highly preferred.

What are the Physical Requirements of the Job?

You must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb/descend stairs regularly, be able to overhead reach and be able to properly move or lift up to 25lbs throughout shift. You will spend a significant amount of shift standing and walking the property. There are times that you will have to sit for extended periods of time, talk on the phone.
