As the Area General Manager of the hotel, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of a property with direct oversight of two other hotels in the market. Reporting to the Director of Operation of High Hotels, the Area General Manager will be responsible for creating a positive environment for all co-workers and guests and delivering best-in-class service to ensure satisfaction and guest experience.
Functioning as the primary strategic leader of the hotel with responsibility for all aspects of the operation, including guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, and sales and revenue generation
Analyzing business results and working with the leadership team to develop effective strategies to address needs. Making key decisions and overseeing execution, removing obstacles to success, and ensuring appropriate resources are available to achieve business results.
Prioritize the safety and security of all guests, co-workers and hotel assets by ensuring safety practices and procedures are followed and maintained.
Ensuring brand standards are met with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations; communicating follow-up actions to the team as necessary
Coach, support and develop assigned managers, ensuring top level performance in accordance with the established brands and consistent with HHL values.
Driving the sales culture in the hotel through active involvement in the sales process, including encouraging the leadership team to develop effective revenue management strategies and setting aggressive goals that will drive the property's financial performance.
Supervise development of and revision to business plan, annual budget, financial reports and annual and monthly forecasts that clearly explain operational effectiveness, trends and variances.
Preparing an annual budget and business plan in collaboration with appropriate department heads to ensure the smooth operations of the hotel, set financial goals, and plan expenses.
Handle co-worker issues appropriately and in conjunction with human resources following HHL policies.
Promote a favorable image of the hotels and HHL to the public through personal interest in civic, cultural and other community activities
Qualifications & Skills Required:
5+ years of Hotel General Management experience with some food and beverage experience
Some college courses completed in Hotel/Restaurant management or Culinary discipline
Proven leadership experience with multi-property oversight experience
Solid understanding of sales and revenue management
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a history of top notch customer communication ability
Must possess strong computer skills, excellent communication and presentation skills
