Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) South is a world class fabricator of both military and commercial turbine airfoils. HSMC South is looking for a high energy, self-starter to assume the role as the quality engineer team leader in the production and development of turbine airfoils.
Provide technical support to the inspection and manufacturing communities
Evaluate manufacturing processes and hardware to determine compliance to applicable requirements
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance shop quality signature
Perform data analysis of quality non-conformances
Support shop non-compliance investigations to determine root cause, identifying robust corrective actions and tracking effectiveness
Support preparation efforts for external quality audits such as the AS9100 certification
Support product escapes investigations and population bounding efforts
Support day to day manufacturing activities such as review and approval of work instructions, process authorization requests (PAR), and first article inspections (FAI).
Team with supplier quality engineering to resolve supplier issues that impact shop hardware
Construct and perform quality presentations to a technical community.
BS in related field, preferably engineering
US Citizenship required due to government contracts
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Fluent in English (verbal/written)
Familiarity with inspection tooling and techniques,
Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a group setting and interface directly with shop floor inspection and operations personnel
Proficient in the use of continuous improvement tools, such as robust root cause analysis (RRCA) and principles of lean manufacturing.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
