ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
Greets every guest in a prompt, friendly, courteous and cheerful manner
Offers a cordial farewell and thanks guests for dining upon departure
Communicates constantly with Servers, Bussers and Management to ensure efficient operations
Seats guests in a timely and efficient manner
Creates accurate dinner reservations in the computer for guests either in person or over the phone
Uses guest surname when applicable
Seats all stations equitably assuring equal distribution of parties
Keeps work area clean and neat
Ensures floor is free of spills and debris at all times
Knowledgeable of all Beau Rivage outlets, special events, concerts and promotions
Collects and inspects all menus, discarding all worn ones
Updates and replaces menu inserts into menu covers
Answers phone properly and promptly giving name of restaurant and identifying self
Maintains familiarity with menu items and daily specials
Ensures that tables are properly set
Knowledgeable of all comp and coupon policies
Assists with initial guest complaints and informs manager on duty, immediately
Assures smooth transition at shift change remaining on duty until relief is present
Retrieves menus from all areas of restaurant as needed
Circulates stations making sure guests are getting proper service and that all employees are in stations and being productive
Able to do any requirements for the following jobs - Food Servers and Bus Person
Performs other duties as required or assigned by management
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent and one year fast paced, high volume restaurant, caf or fast food operations experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge and ability to use computer register, credit card approval and imprint machine
Must be capable of following directions
Must possess good recall and memory
Must be able to speak, read and write English
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, and speaking.
Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft.
Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.
Occasionally carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 200 lbs.
Work performed in climate-controlled environment with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces. Employee may be exposed to secondhand smoke and kitchen odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Regular scheduled hours. Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
