The Host/Hostess position at The Pool House will primarily greet and assist Guests in a positive, welcoming and professional manner. The Pool House Host/Hostess will anticipate guests needs, and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency. They will also maintain a proactive approach to solving any guests questions or problems. Finally, The Pool House Host/Hostess will bid farewell to guests, using their name when known, and encourage them to return to Lionfish
Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:
Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs. Assist in providing analytical support and decision making tools to leadership team to help exceed desired business results.
Working as a team and effectively communicating with management, chef and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other associates.
Greet and direct guests and control the flow of guests coming into the pool, pool bar, and cabanas, while under pressure. Also answer telephones and direct calls where necessary
Oversee daily Pool cabana and lounge chair reservations, pre-assigning seating where necessary, and communicating with management, service staff and chefs and special guest needs, requests, and VIPS
Must be have strong communication skills and ability to multi-task is required. Must also be able to read and write in English proficiently
Ability to follow directions well, make quick decisions, and keep organized while under pressure. Exposure to high volume restaurant environment preferred
Basic computer skills and experience with computer based reservations systems preferred. Must also be able to operate a multi-line telephone
Professionally groomed in a manner consistent with the department grooming standards. Also must have a positive attitude, be self motivated, polite, energetic and a willing learner
Ability to market and assist in database development, have 1 year experience marketing restaurants, pools, lounges or nightclubs, and / or related experience in a Retails or marketing internship or related university marketing course work preferred
