The Grand Sierra is looking for energetic and customer service minded individuals to join the Food and Beverage team as a Host for Uno Mas. The Host guarantees guests are served in a warm, accommodating and professional manner ensuring total guest satisfaction. Guarantee prompt, courteous and team minded service throughout the entire department and adhere to all Grand Sierra Resort standards. This role is highly visible and interacts with sponsors, vendors, clients, and GSR Management. Leads by example at all times and provides the highest level of customer service to all guests, vendors and clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Greet and seat restaurant customers in a welcoming, accommodating and professional manner following all required standards.
Receive payment from guests in the form of cash, credit cards, room charges and comp slips. Make change as needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and insure vouchers are properly executed in order to properly balance all monetary transactions.
Make deposits/cash drops, complete appropriate cashier paperwork/reports, balance and secure bank.
Answer phones quickly and politely without any sign of hurriedness.
Handle guest issues in a professional manner.
Employ essential hospitality standards: eye contact, smile, speak first, and engage in polite conversation.
High School diploma required.
Minimum 1 year experience in any customer service related position.
Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Must possess a strong attention to detail and presentation skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, staff, customers, and general public.
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and to create and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions through decisive judgment. Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
