TCs Taphouse

TheHostess/Host is responsible for greeting, welcoming, seating, and assisting guests. Coordinates guest seating to balance server workload and ensure efficiency. May also be responsible for taking reservations, and documenting/fulfilling guest date, time, and seating preferences.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Report to work promptly in a clean and neat state, with clothes pressed.

  • Assign each waitress a section and post in wait prep area- confer with manager on duty.

  • Answer phone reservations and map on reservation chart.

  • Allow 10-15 minutes between tables within sections.

  • It is most important to be at the hostess station and only leave when you are seating a guest.

  • Be sure to notify wait person of a new table.

  • When seating the guests, give each person a menu, each child a children's menu, crayons, and activity sheet, and one wine and beer list for each table.

  • Always check menus before opening and replace any that are dirty or torn.

  • Above all, have a smile on your face and warmly greet each guest.

  • Check with shift manager for other duties.

  • Contribute to team effort by participating in Job Sharing, assuming responsibility for the cleanliness of the resort and safety of guests and employees; participating in safety meetings; accepting diverse assignments; maintain a positive and friendly attitude and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.

  • Meet service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reach Your Peak.   Event/Race Crew assists in all aspects of competition production for both the Northstar Race & Event Departments.  The crew will interact with external production staffs and other internal departments with the highest level of safety, efficiency, and service in accordance with this department's strict standards for competition facilitation.  For all events the crew will be responsible for making sure the course and special events are set up in a neat and presentable manner.  As a customer focused organization, a crucial part of each employees' job is to get and keep guests.   Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):   * Event set-up from pre-event planning through event construction and post event tear down * Coordination with internal and external contacts * Course setting, safety equipment set up, and timing set up * Maintenance of race courses-slipping, raking, shoveling, gate and safety equipment repairs * Lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, often while skiing/snowboarding * Shovel snow on a regular basis * Provide great customer service to all of our guests * Assist with other department activities as requested * Maintain and organize on-hill equipment in a professional manner with an emphasis on safety and guest service * Assist on EpicMix Race Venue   Requirements:   * USSA Membership with an Officials certification * Flexibility in scheduling * Expert skiing/snowboarding experience * Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language  * Some nighttime work and the ability to work safely on and around machinery and scaffolding at all hours * Long hours outdoors in the elements in the service of racing and event production * Minimum 2 yrs/seasons experience working with another race department or event production crew * Previous experience with race timing equipment * Experience in course setting and course security equipment installation * Familiarity and experience with all uses of power and hand tools    Preferred Skills:   * In person interview * Ability to operate on-snow machinery: Snowmobiles, snow blowers, and perhaps snow cats * Previous resort experience * Computer knowledge     With diverse tree-lined mountain trails, a world-class terrain park and a vibrant village, Northstar is the perfect setting for families and snow sports enthusiasts alike.
