Hospitality Flex Security Officer - Downtown Chicago - $20/Hr

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Security Officer to join our team, providing coverage across various hotel properties. The Flex Security Officer will ensure the safety and security of hotel guests, employees, and property by maintaining a visible presence, patrolling the premises, and responding to any incidents or emergencies. This position requires open availability, as shifts may vary based on hotel needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrol and Monitor: Conduct regular patrols throughout hotel property, including parking areas, lobbies, and guest floors, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Incident Response: Respond swiftly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, assisting guests and employees as needed.
• Guest Assistance: Provide courteous assistance to guests, including giving directions, answering questions, and managing any concerns.
• Access Control: Monitor access points and verify identification for restricted areas, ensuring that only authorized personnel are permitted.
• Report Writing: Document incidents and submit clear, detailed reports, ensuring accurate record-keeping for management and law enforcement as necessary.
• Safety Protocols: Enforce hotel policies, safety protocols, and emergency procedures to maintain a safe environment.
• Surveillance: Utilize security systems, including surveillance cameras, to observe and investigate any suspicious activities on the premises.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: Must be available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on hotel staffing needs.
• Experience: Previous security experience preferred, especially within hotel or hospitality environments.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with guests, employees, and law enforcement personnel.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the property for extended periods; may occasionally require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Licensing:Able to acquire and maintain a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), including state accredited training requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
