Job Description:
We are seeking Hospitality and Tourism Management Adjunct Instructors to teach hospitality management courses such as food and beverage cost control or event management or food service production or sanitation and safety, in a diverse work environment, while demonstrating sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities. Must be able to teach hospitality management courses in a college setting; develop course syllabus, teaching materials, activities, and handouts for each section/course taught; prepare and deliver lectures; maintain accurate student records and be willing and able to teach day or evening classes.
Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's degree or higher in hospitality management or hospitality related field; currently ServSafe Manager Certified; three (3) years hospitality industry experience. Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.

Preferred: Teaching experience at the college level; currently ServSafe Instructor Certified.

This is a pooled search. Jefferson Community College is seeking to develop a pool of qualified applicants to teach Hospitality and Tourism Management courses. Adjunct applications will be kept on file for three years to fill part-time teaching vacancies as they occur.
The College determines the need for adjunct instructors based on planned courses each term; it is not possible to predict the need for future semesters. When an opening does occur, finalists for adjunct positions are contacted for interviews.
Level A - $665/credit hour
Level B - $785/credit hour after teaching 6 semesters at Jefferson.
