Summary

Provides support and assistance to Nursing Department and staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Makes residents' beds

  • Labels resident clothing and belongings.

  • Distributes personal and facility laundry.

  • Passes meal trays and offers basic tray set-up. May assist with feeding, if competency demonstrated.

  • Serves food and busses dishes in the dining room.

  • Transports/escorts residents to areas within the facility, e.g. dining areas, activities, resident care conferences, etc.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members.

  • Ability to learn infection control techniques.

  • Ability to be patient and polite.

Possesses basic math skills.</p></li><li><p>Experience: Three months customer service or cleaning experience preferred.</p></li><li><p>Certification/Licensure: No licensure or certifications required</p></li></ul><p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain areas such as patient towers, public areas, exam rooms, offices, etc., the Environmental Aide's essential duties include:</p></li><li><p>Cleaning all surfaces</p></li><li><p>Disinfecting all surfaces</p></li><li><p>Dusting all surfaces</p></li><li><p>Replenishing all supplies</p></li><li><p>Spot cleaning carpet and upholstery</p></li><li><p>Cleaning up spills</p></li><li><p>Changing linen and making beds</p></li><li><p>Operating vacuum cleaning equipment</p></li><li><p>Dust mopping and damp mopping floors, stairs, and landings</p></li><li><p>Disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste</p></li><li><p>Reporting needed equipment repair and all unsafe situations</p></li><li><p>Identifies safety risks, provides feedback and helps address safety issues.
