Position Summary:

Performs a variety of support functions to assist in the aide or caring for residents.

Essential Functions:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to provide quality care

  • Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one's feet throughout the day, as well as, push, pull, move and/or lift repetitively a minimum of 10 pounds up to greater than 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to complete performance requirements independently using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others.

  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Must follow BrookHaven's Policy and Procedures

  • Must meet job related competencies

  • Pass ice, water pitchers, linens, towels and washcloths

  • Mark and pass supplies, make beds and help serve plates and drinks to residents at meal times

  • May assist in feeding of residents if qualified per state guidelines

  • Set/clean off tables in dining area, clean dishes, put dishes away

  • Help pass snacks to residents

  • Transport residents to and from activities as well as conduct one-on-one activities with residents

  • Assist in various cleaning activities including: emptying linen/trash bins, cleaning wheelchairs, or other housekeeping duties

  • Perform other non-resident care duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, make simple calculations and follow oral or written instructions.
  • A minimum of a grammar school education is essential.
  • A high school diploma is preferred.

VIEW JOBS 1/27/2023 12:00:00 AM 2023-04-27T00:00 <p>Full Time night shift</p><p>Part-time night shift</p><p>Position Summary:</p><p>Supervise nursing staff in accordance with facility policy and assume responsibility for the Assisted Living in the absence of the Director. Overall administration and supervision of both units including; ensuring quality care; training and supervision of professional and support personnel; disciplining and/or termination of unit personnel with guidance of human resources; administering personal hygienic, preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitation services to residents and assists in the coordination of nursing care provided by other disciplines.</p><p>Essential Functions:</p><ul><li><p>Regular and punctual attendance</p></li><li><p>Manage nursing units which includes ensuring daily work assignments are completed, supervise the delivery of quality resident care</p></li><li><p>Communicate to Director changes in resident conditions, staffing issues or changes, concerns regarding personnel issues, transportation conflicts, etc.</p></li><li><p>Assist nurses in completion of tasks including medication administration, treatments, occurrences, managing staff, communication to families, etc. in order to effectively time manage and prevent overtime.</p></li><li><p>Round with physicians, share information necessary for care of residents, transcribe and implemented, ensure orders are signed.</p></li><li><p>Monitor faxes and communications to physicians; assure that orders are signed promptly according to policy.</p></li><li><p>Monitor completion of physician orders such as obtaining urine or stool samples.</p></li><li><p>Assure compliance with appropriate activities on Lakeside and give instructions to staff as needed.</p></li><li><p>Keeps units clean, hazard free and deals appropriately with emergencies.</p></li><li><p>Identifies and anticipates the needs of residents and staff and provide intervention as appropriate.</p></li><li><p>Maintains weekly charting on residents receiving skilled nursing care as required by ODH.</p></li><li><p>Orient new admissions to unit and insure that all systems are operation for the care and comfort of the resident.</p></li><li><p>Participates in the hiring, evaluation and termination process of personnel.</p></li><li><p>Train, supervises and provides ongoing in-service education to personnel, monitor staff attendance at monthly mandatory in-services.</p></li><li><p>Administer corrective action when policies are broken.</p></li><li><p>Assists nurse and unit personnel in interpreting and planning assignments and in executing difficult assignments.</p></li><li><p>Attends supervisory/managerial meetings, conferences and staff meetings.</p></li><li><p>Maintains confidentiality with regard to resident and employee records and other management information received.</p></li><li><p>Maintains and responsible for the proper use, care and treatment of unit equipment.</p></li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p><ul><li><p>Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing and currently licensed/registered with the Ohio State Board of Nursing to practice.</p></li><li><p>Must be or become familiar with organization, functions, policies and procedures and state regulations as they relate to nursing services and Assisted Living rules.</p></li><li><p>Must be committed to the standards of gerontological nursing and be licensed to administer medications according to state laws and have current CPR certification.</p></li></ul> Brookhaven Retirement Community Brookville OH
