Provider is board certified and/or Board eligible in Internal Medicine. Serves as hospitalist and attending physician to medical inpatients in ward, step down, and ICU setting. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Provides backup support for after hours, overnight medical inpatient coverage and sometimes Emergency Room coverage. Oversees the Family Practice residents on rotation at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center when covering ER and inpatient services as well as D.O students on the medical inpatient ward.
Documents into CPRS in a timely manner.
Participates In Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties.
Provides clinical supervision of Hospitalist Service providers including but not limited to review and oversight of patient management, clinical outcomes and continuous quality improvement as well as monitoring and review of various reports such as physician productivity, IPEC, EPRP, SHEP and other productivity, efficiency, quality and patient satisfaction reports made available by Veterans Health Administration.
Work Schedule: Typically Monday
4:30pm, but may include weekends and overnight coverage.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
