The Hospitalist Department Associate is responsible for clerical and administrative duties within the Hospitalist Department, these include creating patient lists, clerical support to physicians and department, and maintaining department files. This isper diem position with flexible hours and some weekends may be required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following: 1.
Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. 2. Primarily responsible for the creation and distribution of the daily patient list for Adult Hospitalists census (morning process) 3. Provide daily support to the Adult and Pediatric Hospitalist physicians and nurse practitioners 4.
Provide exceptional oral, written and electronic communications including maintenance of electronic files 5. Provide exceptional customer service 6. Assist with on-boarding and training of new clerical team members and provide coverage for team members during periods of absence. 7.
Act as a liaison for billing, reconciliation and attestation issues 8. Process check Requests Purchase Orders 9. Maintain office supplies and all office equipment, phones, chargers, etc. 10.
Process incoming mail 11. Perform errands as need on the hospital grounds 12. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education Experience Requirements: High School Diploma; Some college preferred Working knowledge of medical terms required Two years customer service experience required Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, specifically word and excel required Core Competencies Exceptional communication skills Maintains composure in stressful situations Ability to problem solve and easily adapt to change Ability to work as part of a team Demands/Requirements Work Environment May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospitals SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospitals Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
